Chapter 24. The best laid plans of mice and wolves

1922 Words

Indira I hate not getting my way. And I’m tired of my plans not working out like I want them to. My father has always been disappointed in me. He’d wanted a son, and when I was born, he was not happy. My mother had died in a car wreck when I was very young, so I don’t really remember her. My father won’t allow any photos of her at all, so I don’t even know what she looked like. I vaguely recall coppery red hair, but I may have imagined it. Not that it matters anyway. As I approached my twentieth birthday, Dom was reaching an age where the pack was beginning to wonder if we’d ever get our Luna. My father decided that I must be the Alpha’s mate, so he arranged a “chance” meeting between Dom and I. To say he was disappointed that Dom and I were not fated mates would be an understatement.
