Chapter 4: Bumped Into You

574 Words
Swyne’s POV As Swyne pulled into the bar’s parking lot, the neon sign creaked in the gentle breeze, casting a colorful glow in the asphalt. The sound of laughter and clinking of glasses drifted out of the entrance mingling with the thumping bass of the music inside. He couldn’t shake off the annoyance of the minor car accident. He got out of his car, locked it and headed towards the entrance, still thinking about the woman who bumped into his car. That's when he saw her, the woman he had exchanged information with earlier, at the road — surprising. She was standing outside the bar, her arms crossed and a scowl on her face. “It is you!” he said “You’re the one who hit me!” Violet exclaimed. Swyne’s eyes widened in surprise when he saw her, but he quickly regained his composure. “Ah, yeah! The infamous car accident! Don’t worry I’ll pay for the damages. I’m rich after all,” he said with a smirk, trying to lighten the mood. “You think this funny? You could have hurt someone!” she said, her voice low and even but with a hint of venom. Swyne’s chuckled. “Hey, it was just a little bump. And like I said, I’ll take care of it. I’m made of money,” he said, grinning. Violet’s expression turned even more irritated, and she threw up her hands in impatience. “You’re not taking this seriously, are you?” She paced back and forth in front of him, her heels clicking on the pavement. “You’re just dismissing the whole thing like it’s nothing!” As they stood outside, the sounds of music and laughter drifted out into night air, a contrast to the tension between them. The smell of smoke and beer wafted out of the entrance, mingling with the scent of Violet's perfume. Just then, Elijah and Duke walked out of the bar, looking for Swyne. “Hey, dude what’s going on?” Duke asked, noticing the tension between Swyne and Violet. Swyne gestured to her, “This is the lovely lady I bumped into...literally.” The woman’s eye flashed with anger, but before she could say anything, Elijah’s eyes widened in surprise. “Violet?” Duke’s grin faltered as he realized the connection. “Violet? As in...your sister? “Elijah, this is the guy who hit me.” she pointed her hand to Swyne. “You’re going to pay for damages, to my trauma and so on.” she added. “Go home,” Elijah replied coldly to Violet. Duke chuckled. “Looks like Swyne’s got a knack for making an impression, even on the road.” “I’ll take care of everything okay? Let’s go inside I want to drink.” Violet’s eyes rolled. “You’re impossible.” “Since you’re here, Violet let’s grab a drink and forget about the car incident.” Sywne’s grinned. “Sounds like a plan to me.” Elijah walked first inside the bar and continue to drink wine, he can’t remove the words that Harper said to him at the mall. As Swyne and Duke seated at their table, Elijah turned his head to Duke. “Where is she?” he said with a cold voice. “Violet? Ah she said she have other stuff to do,” Duke answered. Swyne changed the topic into the plan pranks for Elijah’s revenge to Harper.
