Dova’s POV
She watched his solid back as he exits the hospital. She has always seen Vixor as a best friend and nothing more. She almost said no to him but She couldn’t. She knows Vixor and he was not one to say no to. Devastated is not the word to describe how he would be at this moment. She swallowed hard refusing to blame herself for what had just happened. After tossing on the bed and still not finding sleep, she decided to take a walk to clear her head and at least get fresh air.
“I have feelings for you.” She blinked her eyes as his heavy words slowly settled on her. It only seemed to be getting clearer by the minute. Now that she had silently rejected him,did it mean that he was going to go off and she would have no one to tell her secrets. Deep pain started circulating in her chest. She didn’t love him as a mate but she she didn’t want to lose him either. She dragged herself and comforted herself in the scenery of the backyard. I’m few seconds, she will be there where she can admire the beautiful butterflies and not worry about life.
“Ugh! Sorry, sorry,so sorry.” She apologized when she withdrew herself from this person. She was lost in thought and had coincidentally bumped into the guy at the hospital.
“Uhm..hello?” He stretched his neck wondering what was going on in her head.
“You seem too lost for a young lady. What are you even doing here? Oh.” He quickly regretted his words when he saw her dressed in hospital clothings.
“I’m Oliver. You are?” His hands were still in air and Do a awkwardly shook hands with him.
“I’m sorry. I was just lost in thoughts.” She lifted her head and she was lovestruck. Oliver was everything. The freckles with his hair, his one sided dimple. His perfect row of teeth. He was way better than Vixor.
“Who’s Vixor where Oliver is?” She quickly pushed Vixor to the back of her mind. Unknown to her,Vixor was just in one of the hospital rooms and he heard her. A great level of hatred settled in his heart for this Oliver. His hands shook and he promised himself to destroy their friendship. He was the only one permitted to have Dova. No one else. Every time it had always been Dova rejecting them not unusual turn of events.
“Dova!” Unable to stand it anymore,he quickly came out from his hiding place. His anger was obvious in his eyes. His pupils had dilated. But he had no idea.
“You called me?” She threw her face away from him to the hospital room beside them.
“That confession just now,was it a sincere confession or you just did it to taunt me?” He folded his arms behind his back careful not to give himself away.
“And if it was? What has that got to do with you? We’re merely best friends. Stop acting like a possessive mate!” She frowned not getting upset with his new character.
“Questions are meant to be answered with statements not with questions.” He pulled her arm refusing to let her go.
“I can do whatever I want to not matter how I want to do it. It has nothing to do with you. I will express myself anyway I deem fit. Anyway I deem it fit. Anywhere I deem it fit and any f*****g time. Read my lips Vixor, I. Am. Not. Your. Puppet. Let me go.” She struggled from his grasp and she freed herself from his firm grip.
She turned from him and she walked away to prevent him from seeing her tears. Her hearty was shred into pieces by her own words. She wiped her tears and immediately Oliver came into her mind. She needed to see him. If Vixor was not going to be her burden bearer anymore, she would find a new burden bearer.
“Hey? What’s going on?” Oliver smiled revealing perfect set of teeth.
“He’s so stupid! So foolish! I hate him!” The tears flowed freely and this time they came from her poor heart. She was used to the feeling of betrayal and distrust but this heartbreak of a thing she was feeling was just terrible. Every time she remembered Vixor’s ast expression, she would break down again.
“You can hug me if you want. I’ll be your shoulder to lean on.” He shrugged his shoulders acting indifferent when in essence it was all part of their plan. Everyone in the clan knew Dova, she was one of the strongest Lunas and could even go one on one with Lunas that were far older than me. This also fueled the hatred in Delilah’s heart. When Delilah had met Oliver and asked him to help her with this task,he was beyond excited. Now he could tell everyone in the park his girlfriend was her. When he only intended to play. He smirked.
She hiccuped until finally she threw herself into his arms sobbing. She relaxed her head on his shoulder and let it out. He guided her till they got to the hospital ward he was staying in. The place was empty but Dova was too lost in tears to notice it.
“Oliver,I’m going to tell you something only Vixor knows about and I hope it stays with you. Since we’re no longer friends or so I believe, I need someone to lift this weight with me.” She started the wiping the tears off her face.
“You can always count on me Dova. I would never do anything to hurt you.” He crawled with his fingers till it got to her palm and he intertwined their palms together. Dova felt a false sense of comfort.
“I’m not really the powerful Luna everyone sees to be.” Oliver stayed quiet waiting for her to reveal the secret of her strength.
“I’m,I’m immune to the full moon.” She whispered the last word to herself but somehow Oliver still managed to catch it. Immediately he withdrew his hands and stared at her with immense hatred. She was no use.
