Getting to know you

Trinity looked at him and smiled, “How about you tell me about yourself first?” Andrew smiled, "If you say so. Well, my friends call me Andy." Trinity laughed, "Nickname?" She realized that she had invited him over for food, she slowly got up and moved back to the kitchen she looked back to see him staring out her, “I invited you over for food, I should probably start the food.” She turned back around and took the steaks out of the fridge. She heard footsteps behind her. “Something wrong?” She looked behind her to see him sitting on a barstool at the table. “No thought I should come over to keep you company. Anyways yeah it’s a nickname, just one of those names everyone wants to shorten. Do you need any help?" He started to stand, it felt rude not to help. She waved a hand at him as she turned on the oven. "Oh no, I'm fine. Sit, Sit, now where do you work Andy?" Trinity asked while getting the steaks prepped for the oven. She loved her oven, she made sure to buy the best one on the market when she got this house. The steaks wouldn’t take to long to cook. Sitting down at her command Andrew answered, "Well I'm the Alpha of my pack but I'm also in construction, I work for Moné Industries." Trinity looked over her shoulder and laughed, "I figured you were an Alpha” She turned back around and placed the steaks in the oven, “It's a family business?" Andrew raised an eyebrow, “You figured I was an Alpha of a pack?” Trinity turned around and leaned against the kitchen counter, “Yeah you have that Alpha quality about you, plus you said that you had a pack. Power of deduction I suppose.” Andrew hummed and continued, "Yeah, my dad's the boss of the company since he is no longer the Alpha of the pack. He’s able to focus on it more since he no longer has to worry about pack responsibilities anymore." "That's cool you get to work with your dad. Do you have any brothers or sisters? How's your mom?" With a chuckle, he continued, "I have a big sister, she's a doctor. And my mom, well she died two years ago." Trinity jumped up from the counter with a look of horror, "Oh, I'm sorry." Andrew waved off her concern he smiled, "Oh it's fine, we all loved her and she died peacefully. It was hardest on dad there for a while since they were mated but he always says that one day the Moon Goddess will reunite them and that he will wait patiently. Mom would get angry at him if he didn’t take care of his pack and family just because she’s gone." Trinity nodded, "Well that's good." Andrew leaned into the table and smiled, "Well it's your turn; I answered all your questions." Taking two beers from the fridge and popping the tops she placed them on the table and then went back for the steaks, "I guess it is.” She took the steaks out of the oven and placed them on plates and walked back over. She looked up at him to see him eyeing the beer she placed down for herself, she laughed, “I said that it wasn’t my thing not that I wouldn’t drink them.” She heard him laugh as she sat down. “Anyways, I actually have one more question?" With a laugh, Andrew said, "Shoot!" "About the jaguar thing?” She asked cutting her steak. Andrew nodded finishing his bite of food, "My mother and father are both jaguars and so I’m genetically a were-animal, I wasn’t experimented on to have my animal." Trinity nodded, "Oh that's cool.” Wow, way to sound awesome there Trin. “Well, that was my last question. I guess it's my turn, I'll go in the same order. All right, I work at the P.O. Agency. It's a police station for paranormal and other-worlders. I work with my best friend Allison, I call her Ally," She looked up to see that he was listening to every word that she was saying. She wasn’t sure what to do, a man had never listened to her so intently before. “and also with her husband, we joke around a lot. I also work with my older brother, Jackson." "Well, that sounds fun." "Not when you have an overprotective brother by your side." She started laughing when he smiled at her. He raised a brow at her, "Well go on your not finished yet." She rolled her eyes, "I only have one sibling, Jackson, I call him Jack. My mom just works from home. And well my dad…" That was a subject nobody in her family wanted to talk about. "Yeah" "He was murdered when I was nine. He was at the wrong place wrong time. Aliens killed him." She looked up to see his brows knit together, he put a hand on her knee for comfort. Trinity couldn't help but smile "Thanks, but that's why I joined the agency, so that it wouldn't happen again, or if it does I can do something about it." He nodded, applauding her bravery on the subject, "You have one more question to answer." "Oh, the leopard thing. I was an experiment when I was a baby. My mother is an alien so I'm also alien. I get my human half from my father. I'm also psychic, that's from my mother." Andrew growled, "Why were you an experiment?" No one should experiment on his Mate. Wait did he just say that this woman was his mate. His jaguar purred, he would take that as a yes. "That's a really long story" He moved his chair a little closer hoping she would take the hint, "I have time." She smiled and nodded. “Why don’t we move to the couch so we are a bit more comfortable for this long tale.” He nodded and moved to sit next to her on the couch, “alright hit me with this long story of yours.” She took a deep breath and proceeded to explain everything that was not going on with her. I felt really good getting it off of her chest, it felt like she was confiding in a person that she had known her whole life. Was this what a mate was supposed to feel like? Was this her mate that she had waited her whole life for? She knew that alien mates were different than human mates and how they felt towards each other. She also knew that the leopard DNA inside of her told her that a mate was a bond that you could not break and her leopard wanted this man. Her leopard purred for this man, wanted to mark him as hers so everyone knew that this man belonged to someone. She shook herself returning to the conversation, "So my mom did the leopard thing to help protect me." "Well, it seems he's finally found you." His jaguar was pacing inside of his mind growling at what it’s mate was going through. He had to agree with his jaguar. Trinity shrugged, "I guess he has." Andrew moved closer he could sense the fear in her tone and couldn’t hold his body from what it was about to do. In one second he was just sitting next to her, the next he had his arms around her dragging her close to him. He inhaled her scent and it called his beast. He held her closer, "I'm sorry this is all happening to you." She smiled and held him back, "It's fine I always said I needed adventure and suspense." She tried to laugh, but it came out as a muffled whimper. She needed to change the subject, she pushed against him to look at the clock, "It's getting late. It's already 2:00 in the morning." Andrew sighed immediately missing the connection, "I guess it is." He waited for her to push him away even more by kicking him out of the house. He looked up at her and was surprised to see her look conflicted like she was fighting a battle within herself, “Is everything okay?” Trinity took a deep breath, she couldn’t believe she was about to do this. This was her mate, right? Even though they never mentioned the word yet but she was allowed to ask right? She exhaled the breath she had been holding, "Would you like to stay here for the night? I have a guest room." She immediately looked down at her hands, this was a stupid thing to do such a stupid thing to do. She heard a laugh and looked up to see him smiling. He nodded, "I would love to stay. Where's the guest room?" He was not about to offer to stay with her, as much as his beast wanted her he was a gentleman and would act accordingly. He saw her visibly flinch. "So you don't want to stay in my room?" She was trying to make her voice sound sarcastic but it came out more hurt than she intended. Andrew rubbed the back of his head, "Yes. I mean no. I mean…damnit” he rubbed a hand down his face, “I'm trying to be a gentleman." Trinity perked up, he wanted to be with her but he was trying to be nice. She laughed, "Awww you're so sweet." She patted the top of his head. Andrew purred at the pat, he really tried not to but it just came out. He saw her face turn red as she placed her hand back in her lap. He jumped up from the couch visible blushing himself, "I try. Plus my jaguar and I would be too tempted." She looked up at him, “tempted to do what.” He flashed her a smile that showed his elongated canines, “he really wants you as his mate. Wants to mark you so no other man ever looks at you. I, on the other hand, would like you to choose for yourself. So, gentleman, I must be.” She gaped up at him, well that explains the mate thing, didn’t it. “My leopard wants you too. I appreciate you letting me choose. I’m not really sure how this mate thing goes so if you don’t mind waiting.” He nodded and helped her off the couch letting her pass him to go down the hallway. "Well, then I guess I'll see you in the morning then, oh and the guest room is right across the hall from me." She moved down the hallway. She felt a hot stair as she walked and looked over her shoulder to see him still in the same spot but his eyes had turned from the butterscotch yellow to black. She laughed, "Enjoying the view are we?" Andrew growled then shook himself, "Damn you caught me." She laughed, "Well I hope you enjoyed it I worked three months to get this ass." What the hell was coming out of her mouth she never flirted in her life and she was acting as if she did it all the time. “By the way your eyes are black.” Andrew looked down at the floor then back up at her, "My jaguar likes the view as well." She turned to her room and continued to look at him, his eyes finally went back to normal. “Is that normal for your eyes to do that?” Andrew started walking towards her, when he reached her he caressed her cheek “It shows our mate the desire we have for them. You brought my beast out, he desires you and wishes you to be his.” Trinity leaned into the touch and smiled, “Well thank you for the compliment and tell him to just wait a little longer.” She looked up at him and without thinking rose on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. “Good night.” She moved away from him and hurried into her room and closed the door. She heard a laugh and then the squeak of the bedsprings from the other room. She heard a sigh and then, “Good night.” She smiled and yelled, “Good night.” She snuggled into her bed with a smile. This was defiantly the best night she had ever had.
