Chapter 8 unforeseen encounters

**Unforeseen Encounters** Liam looked outside but couldn't find Yvaine anywhere. He left the mall, but his mind seemed unwilling to obey him. His thoughts were a whirlwind of confusion and longing. Yvaine, meanwhile, had taken a taxi to a serene ranch house. "Welcome, miss," the receptionist greeted her warmly. "Where can I get a stable?" Yvaine inquired, her voice calm yet determined. "Miss, wait a moment, I will find someone to escort you." It didn't take long before a man arrived, his demeanor professional yet friendly. "Hello, miss. My name is John, and I will be your guide for today." "You can call me Yvaine." "Nice to know you, Miss Yvaine. This way, please." They headed to the stable, and Yvaine surveyed the horses. Only one caught her attention—a majestic white horse with piercing blue eyes. John noticed her interest. "I see Georgia caught your attention," a voice said from behind them. Yvaine didn't bother to look at the speaker. "Yvaine, you haven't changed a bit," the owner of the voice said, the tone a mix of surprise and familiarity. "Today must be my karma day, because I've met some bitches," Yvaine retorted, her voice icy. "You are as rude as ever," the man replied. "John, can you get me the white horse?" Yvaine asked, ignoring the man. "Miss, I don't think that's a good idea. We have other horses—" "It's okay," she interrupted. "Go bring it." "But, sir—" "Do you not want your job?" the man snapped, his voice laced with threat. John reluctantly went to retrieve Georgia, leaving Yvaine and the man alone. "Yvaine, you refused to date me before. Your life could have changed, but look at you now," the man sneered. "Collins, if you have nothing better to do, you might as well go look for your stupidity," Yvaine replied coolly. "Did you just call me stupid?" "Not a fan of small minds and bad vibes." At that moment, John returned with Georgia. "What do you mean?" Collins demanded, his face flushing with anger. "Being senseless is quite fortunate," Yvaine replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Yvaine, I'm not the same boy. So mind the way you talk to me." "Yeah, you're not missing a screw, but the whole toolbox," Yvaine shot back, causing John and others around to laugh. "Yvaine—" Collins started, but she had already turned away, heading towards the horse. "Let's see who will be laughed at now," he muttered. Yvaine approached Georgia, and the crowd held their breath. Georgia was known to be one of the hardest horses to tame. She gently touched Georgia's mane. "How are you doing? I heard you have a beautiful name. Your owner must really love you. Do you want to go stretch your legs?" Georgia responded to Yvaine's soothing voice, and Yvaine climbed up, riding the horse with ease, shocking everyone. After a refreshing ride, Yvaine left the stable and returned to her hotel. She ordered lunch and took a shower to remove the smell of the stables from her body. Just as she was finishing her meal, she received a video call. --- **A New Beginning** "How are you, my darlings?" Yvaine greeted warmly. "We are fine, Mom," they chorused. "Done with today's classes?" "Yes." "Mom, about yesterday—" Aderyn started. "Mm?" Yvaine prompted. "Mom, we were just surprised, that's all," Deryn continued. "We would love to have a dad." "You are my first consideration, so don't feel forced," Yvaine replied, her voice full of love. "Mom, we are good." "Then you have to call him dad. Is that okay with you?" "Okay," they agreed. "Mom, can you tell us about him?" Darren asked, curiosity in his eyes. "His name is Xie Liam, CEO of Global Entertainment, 25 years old," Yvaine revealed. They were shocked. "Mom, he is younger than you." "Is something wrong with that?" "No, just never imagined you with someone younger," they admitted. "As long as you love him," Aderyn said, her eyes twinkling. "So we all agree to call him dad and respect him?" "Yes," they chorused. "That is good, my darlings." "Take care, Mom." "Take care too. Love you." After ending the call, Yvaine felt a sense of peace wash over her. She had the support of her children, and now it was time to embrace the new chapter in her life.
