"Everything okay?" she asked.
"Yeah, it was just my mom calling," Stephan replied with a small smile.
"Is everything all right? You look worried," Ruby pressed on.
Stephan sighed before explaining everything that his mother had said over the phone. Ruby paid close attention, and after he was done, she had a thinking expression.
"What's your opinion? Are you comfortable coming to dinner with me? My parents are looking forward to hosting you both," Stephan asked hesitantly.
