822 Words
Stepping out of the vehicle, two women Nobles meet them. They bow to Gavin and Trent, “Welcome King. The lord of the Nobles awaits your presence. Please follow us.” Gavin and Trent bow, “Thank you for meeting us.” Following their escorts and standing in front of two big solid doors. Gavin glancing at Trent and speaking in their minds. “I’m not ready for this yet.” “The choice isn’t yours anymore. Get it together Gavin.” He inhales, “You’re right brother. It’s time I start acting like the King trying to save his mate.” The doors creak open, “Gavin, Trent, please come in!” Gavin smiles at Trent, the lord of the Nobles is always quick with the dad jokes. And why wouldn’t he be? The lord of the Nobles has been alive more then five thousand years, he is like a dad. “I’m excited to see how he drops a joke about this subject.” Trent tells him though their minds. Smirk and nod, “Thou I don’t think he will.” Gavin walks through the open doors, Trent a step behind him. “Gavin!” The lord stands and begins to descend the stairs to meet him and Trent. “How are you?” The lord asks shaking his hand. Turning to Trent, “How are you?” Trent nods his head. “We are well, thank you. And yourself?” Gavin replies.   “Oh, you know, living for so long, are days any different? I enjoyed the ceremony; your mate is beautiful and that dress. She is truly a gift for you.” “Thank you, lord. She is beautiful.” “Oh? Don’t tell me, you’re already fighting. Well with all my years of experience, just nod and say yes.” He chuckles, “I’ll keep that in mind.” “Come! Let’s talk about the reason for your visit and didn’t I ask you to call me by my given name.” “I suppose you did, Eamnonn.” Gavin acknowledges while following the lord out of the throne room. Sitting in a room, not really an office, with a large window to overlook the overcast land. A land which consist of a lot of dirt and a few bushes. The Nobles have never been one to care what type of land they live in. Since they can live in any type of weather, this one seems to provide the most, no one cares. “Gavin tell me.” Eammonn asks, realizing he’s not holding his feeling as he should. Correcting himself, “I am in need of information about a possible banished Noble.” “Tristan from the Richardson Clan?” “So, he is a Noble? Why was he banished?” “Why are you asking this Gavin?” “He has approached my mate, with intentions to abduct her. I need to know my enemy.” “He intends to abduct the Queen?” Eammonn’s eyes wide in shock.  “I’ve never seen him this serious.” Trent speaks to Gavin through their minds. “I know. I wonder if he’s going to give us information.” “That child. He attempted to assassinate the clan leader, his father. Our laws require death. The clan begged for banishment, sparing his life. I agreed because I love the clan leader. Never did I assume it would come to this. What can I do for you? What information can I provide?” “I need to know what his abilities are. I need you to know if he attempts or takes my Queen. I will kill him. I will break our treaty to protect my mate.” Eammonn looks away, “I understand. I don’t want you to break the treaty, we’ve had it for thousands of years.” “What would you suggest? His intentions are clear.” Gavin understands and if he’s honest, he doesn’t want the treaty to end. It saves lives and not to mention, they have no beef with each other. “Please. Allow me to call the head of the Richardson clan. Let him explain where Tristan is and his possible motives.” “I agree. I would like to save death for enemies. Not a wayward son.” “I agree.” The lord sends a messenger, but he continues to talk. “The Richardson Clan is known for their water abilities. Thou Tristan was to prideful to learn from his father, he can still be strong. I have not seen him since he’s exile. My thoughts would be, he’s trying to lead your enemies. I can’t image his plan will be a success. Tristan has always been too full of pride to be able to see all angles of a proper plan.” “Is there any places within your Kingdom that he might hide?” Trent nods at Gavin, agreeing to a good question. “There are so many valleys and hide outs within our land. Clan leaders do have a tracking ability within those of their clan. I sent Tristan from these lands and any powers that tie him to us Nobles. That does not necessarily mean he was removed from the clan.” “Is that possible?” This is very interesting. That would mean, the lord is not all powerful over the Nobles. “Well, I allowed this because of who his father is. I see my mistake. I’m sorry Gavin, this could have been prevented.” Interpreted by a knock on the door. “The clan leader is here.”
