1966 Words
Day 4 “Maylyn?” Tabitha fights to open the bedroom. Opening it enough to see Maylyn laying on the floor. “Maylyn! Oh god! What the hell?”  Bending down trying to push her away from the door via the outside. “s**t! Not working.” She thought to call someone, but that call would get back to Trent and Gavin. She is already planning her funeral and mourning all the good s*x she’ll never have, if either one was to come. Bending down and pushing Maylyn through the small opening. Once she was able to squeeze in, she jumped in the bedroom and closed the door. Hoping no one saw that, but feeling at any minute, she would feel dead. Taking Maylyn from the floor and getting her on the bed. Tabitha checks her heart beat and her breathing. Shaking her head, there is no choice but to call the pack doctor. Day 5-7 Waking up to a pinching feeling in her arm. Opening her eyes, looking around the bedroom. Seeing an IV machine, trailing the cord to her arm. “Not comfortable with this.” Pulling the IV out of her arm and getting out of the bed. Maylyn can see she is alone. But what happen, why am I in a hospital gown and why was I hooked up to that IV machine. Shaking her head, feeling the need for a shower. Grabbing her MP3 player and walked into the restroom for a shower.  Walking out of the restroom in a towel to see Tabitha sitting on her bed. “Tab! What the hell is going on? I wake up this morning and I saw the IV machine. What happen?” “You don’t remember?” Tabitha looks at her with a somber expression. “May, you need to take care of yourself.” “What do you mean?” “You’ve been out for a few days. I came to your bedroom and found on the floor pasted out. I was able to get you to the bed and I had to call the pack doctor.” “Tabitha, what was wrong with me?” Maylyn speaking as if she doesn't understand what is being said. “You haven’t eaten. So, your body gave out. The doctor thinks you had some kind of trauma and you just past your limits. Are you okay May?” “I’m sorry Tabitha. I was scared coming back to my bedroom alone and I haven’t been hungry, so I didn’t eat.” “I know. You looked fine, but apparently not. But, I’m glad you’re okay now. The doctor wants you to take it easy for a couple of days.” “Okay, Tab. I get it. I’ll take better care of myself.” Silence fills the room before Tabitha just says it. “No, he didn’t come. He doesn’t know about the incident yet. Once he knows, we might not be able to talk anymore, assuming I’m still alive.” Maylyn hurts hearing Gavin didn’t come. Worse knowing that he doesn’t even know. “Wait? What do you mean? He’s going to blame this on you?” “Yes, you heard him. I’m supposed to get you anything you need. Once he finds out-” Anger boiling in her stomach and chest! “Who does Gavin think he is? He left me here for I don’t know how long.” “7 days, so far.” Tabitha chimes in sarcastically, "7 days."  “He left me here for 7 freaking days alone and he thinks he’s going to come back and have something to say to my saving grace.” Waiving her left index finger in the air and shaking her head, “Oh no MF! We fighting!”  Stopping and looking at Tabitha in silence. At the same time, they both spit into laughing. “Oh May- May, that was so great! Thank you, thank you.” They finish laughing and Tabitha leaves the room. Maylyn feeling rebellious, “I don’t care what any doctor says. I’m out of here.” Getting dressed, putting on her headphones and starting the music. She is going for a walk and no one is going to stop her. Walking away from the castle, unable to hear anyone, just the way she likes it. Walking about 30 to 45 minutes from anyone, she sees it. A large lake, with a dock and raft. Smiling and running toward the dock. Stopping at the end of the dock and looking for the ore to get to the middle of the lake. Jumping on the raft, unhooking it from the dock and rowing herself to the middle of the lake. Laying on her side, happiness level going up while falling into the song. “And if all your hopes survive, destiny will arrive. I’ll bring all your dreams alive, for you.” Not realizing the day has already turned to night. Laying on her back, looking up at the stars. There was never this many at home. Closing her eyes and falling asleep.  Day 8 Maylyn wakes, moaning and stretching. Smelling the water and something familiar; cold dying flowers. Sitting up and see him on the raft next to her. “Ahhh!” Scared, backing until her hand hits the water. He opens his eyes and looks at her, “Hello Birdy.” “Why are you here?” “I tried to stay away. Thinking it was best.” He shakes his head, “But I couldn’t stay away.” He sits up, “So, I came falling your scent. And what do I find, my Birdy, here, so close to my old home and singing no less. But alone again. Where is your mate? Why does he leave you alone?” Shaking off her wet hand, “I’ll not go anywhere with you. Please leave.” Grabbing the ore and beginning to row. “No Birdy, I can’t let you do that. We are so close to my home. Why not come and meet your soon to be in-laws?” Smelling something on the wind, “Why do dogs keep interrupting us?” He looks at her, “Say my name Birdy.” “Why?” “I want to hear it in your voice. They say when you love someone and they say your name, it sounds good.  Birdy, say my name.” “Tristan.” He smiles, “It does sound good.” His attention to the warriors coming, “Sorry Birdy, time to go.” He jumps from the raft, falling on her chest as the raft moves under the weight of Tristan’s jump. He lands on the dock and waves bye to her before running off. Rolling to her back, already done with the day and it’s still only morning. The warriors take her to the castle where a waiting Tabitha is stressed out. “Maylyn!” “Hi.” “Hi?! Where have you been and why do you smell like dying flowers?” “I went walking yesterday and I found a lake. I feel asleep and woke up next to some vampire named Tristan.” Her eyes wide, “Vampire? Are you sure? There isn’t any of those around here. We only have Nobles around here and they don’t smell like you smell.” “I don’t know. I’m going to go and shower.” “Okay, are you hungry? Should I bring some food up?” “No, thank you. But maybe, can we do some shopping?” Tabitha smiles big, “Finally! I get to use that credit card! How much time do you need?” “Um, hour in a half.” “Okay. Meet you in the main room.” Nodding and walking up the stairs to her bedroom, ready to shower. Day 9 Gavin sits at his desk. Paper stacks are smaller but there is still a lot to do. His patience is long gone, and everyone has crossed the line on taking up his time. He has already visited the neighboring pack, took too many calls to count and completed so much paperwork, he’s done everything but what he wants to do. He’s felt the stress of his mate. He still remembers the pain on her face and in her voice when he left her alone in her bedroom. He hasn’t allowed any news to be given on her. He knows that he knows, if he hears one unpleasant thing about his mate, he’s shifting, jumping from the office window and starting that murderous spree, he swears he didn’t already have planned out. Eyes to Trent when he hears the laughing in his mind. “Shall I go and check on her. Or do you plan to be done today?”    Continuing the talking through their minds, “I already told this bastard I’m done today.” “Are you ready to listen to what I know about Maylyn?” “No. You know my wolf side’s intentions. You think if there is anything bad, I can control it? I haven’t slept or ate in 9 days. I’m wavering brother.” Gavin explains, not really suffering physically, but definitely mentally. “Okay, tomorrow then. I really feel you need to know before you see her.” Gavin sighs, “I know. I’m going to get her from her bedroom, bring her to mine and sleep.” “You know, only you’re going to sleep for days. She’ll still be alone.” “Shut up.” Releasing breath and saying aloud, “Sometimes, this king thing….”  Trent smirks, “What time does this end? It’s 10 pm.” “Time goes fast when you’re not having fun.” “But this is your responsibility your majesty.” That pushed the button. Gavin, having no patience, and this MF wants to start with him. “Excess me? Who do you think you are talking too? I did kingdom responsibilities for 9 days, with no rest or food. And you dare attempt to reprimand me, as if I have not done my duty? As if I am your child?” Feeling his eyes turn black and his wolf side taking control. “Kill him for keeping us from our mate!” His wolf commands.  Gavin stands from behind his desk, a deep threatening growl from the back of his throat. Coming from around the desk when he feels the brick wall, a.k.a., his brother Trent. Looking in Trent’s eyes and speaking in their minds, “Brother get control! You can’t do this.” Winning the fight and standing straight in full control. Looking at his offender, “I’m done. Leave me before I rip out your heart.” “I apologize your majesty. Forgive me.” Watching the office door open and close, feeling the fear in the air dissipate. Trent looks at him, “Are you going to be okay?” “I am now.” Gavin reassures.  “I need to tell you about Maylyn before you see her.” “Is it that important.” “Sit down brother.” Trent said seriously. Confusion, “What the hell happen in 9 days?” Trent turns, locks the door, and sits down across from him. “Trent, what the hell??” “Tabitha has not been able to get Maylyn to eat.” “For how long?” Gavin understanding what he heard, not sure how this happen. “The full time she’s been here. On day four, Tabitha found her pasted out. They fed her through the IV and she slept for three days.” Standing enraged and worry, “Where is she now?” “Sit down Gavin. There’s more.” “What the- why-” Not understanding how anything bad could happen in his castle, to his mate! “Day 7 she found the lake.” “When she woke up from being passing out?” Gavin confirms. “Yeah and I really need you be calm for this.” “Just tell me!” He growls. “She fell asleep and woke up with Tristan by her side.” Feeling his face flush red, eyes black, body starts shaking as he tries to fight the force shift! Trent stands, “Gavin, get control. Now isn’t the time for you to lose control. He didn’t touch her. She is okay, the pack warriors got to her. But his intention is to take her away.” One grunt and its clear he lost this battle, growling, “Where is my mate now?” Trent sighs as bones begin to c***k and he shifts into wolf form. “Last time I heard she was asleep in her bedroom. Don’t you think you might scare her like that?” Another grunt and Gavin fights his way back to human. Lying on the ground naked. Exhausted at that fight. He is strong and half of that is also strong and neither sides like anyone touching what belongs to him. Feeling Trent cover him with a blanket, “You are one hell of a strong King Gavin. Tristan doesn’t want to f**k with you.” He sits up, full of sweat and eyes half closed.  “Get out of here!" Trent sounding proud, "I’ll lock up. Make sure you get clothes on first.” Nodding, “Thank you brother.”
