Day 1
Waking the next morning, very comfortable and warm. Maylyn opens her eyes slowly and sitting up. Her mind catching up with where she is, eyes scanning the bedroom. Three double doors lead from the main room. Getting out of the bed took a bit. Glancing at the bed, “What is that a king?” Shaking her head, “I swear.”
Standing in front of a door; “I’ll take what’s behind door number one please.” Chuckling at herself and opening the door. Stepping in; “Oh, it’s the wardrobe. And pretty big one at that.”
Glancing around and finding the light, ‘Wowwww… will I ever own enough clothes to fill this? Well no because my clothes are already in here.”
Biting her bottom lip, a bit excited to know what is behind the next door. Running out of the wardrobe and to the next door. Stopping, “I’ll take what’s behind door number two Kent, please.”
Opening the door, “Oh my gosh!" Stepping in, "This restroom is huge! Wait, is that another wardrobe?” Opening the door, “Oh no, just liens. I was going to say.”
To the left is the toilet, that looks like its never been used. In the middle is a huge mirror with circle bulbs surrounding it and two large white sinks. Stepping to the right is the shower. “The heck?”
The shower goes from wall to wall with a seat on the left side. On the right wall, there is three shower heads and one from the ceiling. Her mouth drops open, “Oh, I can’t wait to be in here with him. Ugh, just that thought of that jerk and I’m ready to tear his clothes off and that jerk leaves me here alone in a room.”
Her eyes still on the shower, her mind and mouth thinking about him. “I miss him. I just want to hear his heartbeat or hear him breathing.”
Hugging herself, “He said he’d come back, I should be patient and trust him. It’s only been a day.”
Leaving the restroom making her way to door number three. Not asking Kent for the door. Just opening it and seeing an oversized chair and a comfy looking sofa. Walking in the room, trying to put the room together. Looking at the walls seeing small speakers and a small mic. “Oh,” she smiles, “It’s for me to sing to myself.”
Sitting on the oversized chair. “Did he do all this for me?”
Pain in her head and heart. Leaving the singing room and walking to the windows. Putting her hand on the window singing, “Wae naman ilae. Oneulcheoleom yeppeun nal-e. Eotteoghe ileohge modeun ge beogchagiman hae.”
Her depression derailed by the knock on the door. Turning around, seeing Tabitha open the door, “Maylyn?”
“I’m here.” Walking toward her.
“Are you okay?”
“I suppose.” She shrugs her shoulders.
“Oh good. The last thing I want is some annoyed King trying to kill me before I find my mate.”
Laughing, “Thanks Tabitha. I needed a laugh.”
“Are you hungry May? You didn’t eat dinner nor breakfast.”
“Not really. I’m just a bit sad.”
“Oh, because of him?” Tabitha frowns and smiles again, “Well, the good thing is that he will eventually finish and come to see you.”
“Oh gosh! Eventually makes it sound like forever. How long do these things normally take?”
“I guess it depends on the situation. I would say, I have no idea hoe. But hopefully not too long.”
Maylyn laughs so hard, “Oh my gosh, did you just call me hoe? I love it!”
“No, I didn’t call you hoe. Just like saying, you know-”
“Don’t worry Tabitha, I love it. I need a friend, are you good with this?”
“Maylyn? You want me to be your friend.” Tabitha looks at her a bit shocked.
“Well, yeah. Why? Are you not allowed to be?”
“No, no, I can be. I just didn’t think you’d want that.”
“Well, I do. Just talk like you did right now, just normal talk and I’ll do the same.”
Tabitha nods, “Okay. So, last night, I put you in your bed. I saw you sleeping on the floor by the windows. I didn’t think you’d mind. The bed is facing the windows anyways.”
“Yeah, I guess I got a bit lost yesterday.”
“Is there anything you want to do today Maylyn? Maybe we can do some shopping or look around? Is there anything you want to see?”
“Um, you know not really. I think I’m just going to stay in and be depressed.”
Tabitha pouts her lips to the left and looks away, like she doesn’t want to say something. “Well, okay. But you can’t get depressed because of no guy. Mate or not.”
“No, you’re right. How about tomorrow we do something.” Looking out of the windows, “I think I need some warm clothes. But only if you think Gavin won’t be coming back tomorrow.”
“I don’t think he will be back so soon.”
Pushing her lips together and nodding, “Yeah, I figured.”
“Okay, I’ll try again at dinner okay.” Tabitha says, “I still have chores to do.”
“Okay, thanks. See you later Tab.”
“Bye May.”
Walking back into the singing room with her headphones and sad song already playing. Laying on the sofa and closing her eyes, a thought of not needing to use the restroom in two days is passing by before falling into sleep.
Day 2
In the same clothes, on the same sofa, behind the same closed door. But today pulling the small mic down and singing, “Maybe its wrong, but you know how much I love you. You lie, till you can find a way to say goodbye. You lie.”
Maylyn, really feeling the pain. Holding her hands on her headphones, singing, “You lie, you don’t want to hurt me. You lie, buy a little time.”
Day 3
Same and same. I’ve got to get past this funk. I wish I had my raft and lake. Loving this room, thou. “Yes, I’m in love Who looks at you the way I do.”
Hearing a knock on the door. “May, are you in there?”
“Yes, come in.”
The door opens, “Hey, what’s up. Is this where you’ve been?”
“Oh yeah, just keeping my depression to a low.” Maylyn pouts.
“Oh, is that what you call not eating for three days and being locked in this room for two. Not to mention you're still in those same clothes.”
They laugh together, “Shut up hoe! Leave me alone. My man took me from my home and ditched me in a room on a different floor from his. He probably has a girl, he’s keeping there.”
Maylyn’s smile fades at Tabitha’s expression. “What? What’s wrong Tab?”
“I would normally agree with you. But not Gavin.”
“What do you mean, not Gavin?”
“I mean he isn’t the hoe you’re thinking he is. I’ve honestly only seen him- maybe two girls since he was crowned.”
“What? No, no way. He’s a King and have you seen his face and his body hiding behind them clothes.”
“I swear! Scouts honor.” Tabitha holding up her right hand.
“Why would he do that? Why wouldn’t he-”
“He’s always been that one that wanted a mate. I highly doubt there is some women hidden in his bedroom.”
“I’m shocked. I’m-”
“You know what I can’t believe May. Here I am telling you what your man is like and you’d rather believe he’s a hoe.”
Chuckling, “Shut up!”
“So,” Tabitha says. “You ready to get dressed and maybe get some sun or food maybe?”
“I’m not hungry yet.”
“Maylyn, its been what three days. Maybe four. I don’t recall seeing you eat anything when Gavin carried you in. So, four days. You gonna get skin and bones, he won’t want you, just saying.”
She laughs again, “Well. How about I get dressed and we go see some sites.”Walking them out of the singing room and closing the door behind her.
“Sounds amazing!” Tabitha happily says. “I’ll see you in the main room, its just down the stairs, in an hour.”
An hour later, Maylyn walks out of the bedroom, singing and dancing. Tabitha walking down the hall toward her room.
“Oh, what are we dancing too?”
Maylyn hands her one of the ear buds.
“Oh yeah!” Tabitha sings, “You know give good brain like you graduated from a good school.”
The girls dance down the hall, stairs and to the front door.
Trent comes opens the front door at the time the girls are about to walk out. Tabitha is dancing slowly, moving her hips, hands in the air and about her hair. He grabs her waist and starts grinding against her.
Maylyn’s mouth drops, Trent mouths to Tabitha, “She’s fine too, but I want you.” He pulls her close and says something in her ear. She nods and turns to look at her, “Let’s go.”
Maylyn walks out of the front door, “Wait, I want to talk to Trent.”
“Sorry Maylyn, he was only setting the car up for us.” Tabitha explains.
“What did he say to you?”
Following Tabitha down the five stretched stairs to the waiting Range Rover.
“Get in the passenger seat May.” Tabitha yells while getting in the driver’s seat.
Turning and looking at the castle. “What the-”
“Beautiful isn’t it?”
Maylyn glances at Tabitha standing outside the vehicle with the door open. “Come on. We need to get going if we’re going to make some good site seeing time.”
There must be 50 windows on just one floor of the right side alone. I wonder if Gavin’s in one of those rooms.
“Come on May, get in.” Tabitha yells again.
Getting in the vehicle and closing the door; “What did Trent tell you.”
“He said a few things.”
“Like what?”
Tabitha looks at her, “Try to get you to eat and whenever I want, he’s willing.”
“Trent likes you?”
“Likes? Probably not. He just wants someone he hasn’t been with. But for me, I want a mate. Since its not him. I try to make it a point to not get involved with work folks.”
“Smart Tab. But probably no luck on eating.”
She sighs loudly, “Yeah, I figured.”
Feeling pushed back in her seat when Tabitha takes off.
Arriving home, Tabitha and Maylyn split in the main room. Stopping and putting in her earbuds and playing a song. It was dark in the hall and she is kind of scared.
Finishing the stairs, trying to ignore the fear of being in a place she doesn’t know. Singing, “And I’ll savor each touch that I wanted so much to feel before, to feel before.” Wiping a tear that is falling from her eye.
Finally reaching her bedroom, opening the door, jumping in and closing the door hard behind her. Sliding down the door and crying.
