“Maylyn? Are you okay?”
“Yes, I am okay Gavin.”
“Did he hit you?”
“Twice, on the face.”
“Are you in pain?”
“No, not really. Just stings. I think my body has been getting stronger since we mated.”
“I told you about changes. Sing something to take your mind off that f*****g Noble that will die soon!”
She giggles, “I got one you’ll love.”
“I’m ready.” Sensing the worry in Gavin’s voice.
“In the mist of the music I tell her I love her. We both laugh because we know it isn’t true.”
Clearing her throat, the feeling of overwhelmed is coming over the shoulders. Hoping the song will take her away. “In the morning I’m leaving, making my way back to Cleveland. So tonight, I hope I will do just fine. And I don’t see how you could ever be anything but mine.”
