Waking the next morning and lying in bed. Thankful there are no guest rooms in the pack house. I don’t or shouldn’t have to worry about seeing him… whoever he is? I know he’s one of the guests, but I wonder who he is. With my past- its just better if I try to avoid him.
Jumping out of bed and getting ready for the day. The weather is to be nice today; dressed in shorts and a tank top, with her bikini under her clothes. Finishing her morning chores and to the cemetery. After visiting, walking to her favorite place; noise cancelling waterproof ear buds and a slight change in the sad songs.
Already singing, knowing this change is because of him. Conflicted feelings for her mood. It’s a nice change from the sad songs, but at the same time, there is a lot of scary and she hasn’t even talked to him yet.
Laying on the raft in the middle of the lake, replying him. His eyes almond shape and the perfect shade of sea foam green. His hair black making his eyes brighter and see through. His skin the perfect shade of warm beige with no blemishes. His lips, full and the perfect guy pink. A strong nose and chiseled cheek bones. He smelt so perfect, like the beach. “My favorite place.”
Sitting up, taking off her shoes, lying back on her side allowing her feet to drag in the water. A happy sigh to continue to think of him, whomever he might be. Closing her eyes replaying the way he growled the word, mine. It was like a song she could sing over and over. Feeling her mind turned on from his face and her body wondering what his touch would feel like.
Replying the same song again. Feeling the need for a cold shower. Standing. Sing and seductively moving her hips and bum while her hands move in and out of her hair. “Fancy you nuga meonjeo joh-ahamyeon eottae!”
Taking off her tank top, still lost in the music. Her full C is something she’s never been afraid to rock. Hands on the waist of her shorts, still singing dancing and getting ready to pull them down. “Fancy you jigeum neoegelo gallae!’
Pulling down her shorts, with her foot tossing them out of the way. As she was about to jump in a strange smell comes on the wind. Turning in the direction of the smell, seeing him. Instant fear, he is not part of the pack, in fact, he isn’t even part of the species.
The music still plays in the background, but her full attention is taken by the man walking to the dock. Suddenly feeling so naked. She drops and gets dressed fast. Stopping the music, taking the ear buds out and putting everything in her short’s pockets. Fear taking over her, one she isn’t a fighter, thou she can fight. But she hasn’t been able to do that in a while. Does she have a way to defend herself?
“What’s your name?” The strange asks.
He is already standing at the edge of the dock. Her fear must be playing on her face, “I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to talk to you. Why don’t you row back?”
No words are coming from her mouth. “Luna, I need help.”
“What’s wrong Songbird?”
“Terror.”
“What the hell! Coming!”
“Don’t be scared. Since you won’t come, I’m going to move the water to get you here. Hold on, I don’t want you to fall in the water.”
Shaking her head slowly. “Okay honey, how about I move the water slowly and talk.”
He bends down and puts his hand in the water, the water begins to move in a way that the raft is moving toward the dock. “My name is Tristan. I was walking by and I saw you singing and dancing. You have an interesting smell. You don’t smell like the normal dogs, not to mention you're beautiful.”
“Luna, please hurry!”
“We’re coming Songbird.”
The raft touches the dock. Tristan ties the raft to the dock and holds his left hand out to her. “Come on Birdy. I promise I won’t hurt you.”
She puts her palms in the surrender position below her chest. His facial expression changes to embarrassed with a smirk, “I won’t hurt you, Birdy. Please don’t make me come and get you.”
“Please back up and I will come.”
“Your voice is melodic Birdy.”
He backs away and she steps to the dock. She attempts to walk past him when he grabs here arm. “No, don’t leave. I just want to talk.”
He hand is cold. Her eyes to his hand, up his arm, to his chest, to his face and his hazel red eyes. “I can smell your fear. But I’m not going to hurt you. You make me feel restless.” He smiles and chuckles glancing away, “And I don’t even have a heart.”
“Please, release me.”
He nods and releases her. She turns to face him, her arms at her side; figuring if she is going to die, at least she needs to face her attacker.
“You’re really different Birdy.” He picks up her hand, bringing her wrist to his nose and fast to pull it away. “Birdy, your smell, it’s exciting!” He pulls it back to his nose and smiles; “You’re like a high! I don’t want your blood. I just want to smell it!”
She meets his blood red eyes, “Birdy, I’m sorry. I got carried away.” He releases her hand, “What do I smell like to you?”
“Cold… sweet dying flowers.”
“What? Really, Birdy?”
His attention taken to the new smell on the wind. “The dogs are coming.”
His hazel red eyes back to her, “I’ve got to go Birdy. I wish I could’ve talked to you more. Maybe next time, I’ll find you again.”
As the pack warriors come in site, Tristan grabs her hand and holds her wrist to his nose again. “Thanks for the super charging Birdy. Until next time.” He turns and runs from the area.
Dropping to her knees and taking a deep breath. Luna reaches her and hugs her, “Are you okay?”
She looks at her, “Yes, I think he-”
Alpha stands above her and Luna, “Come. That things death smell is everywhere.”
“Where are the visitors? Did this ruin the visit?” She asks, not wanting to make trouble for the pack.
“They went into town. Don’t worry Songbird, this will not cause trouble.”
“Of course not!” The Alpha roars, “Who knew there was a blood sucker moving around these parts? No matter, let’s go home.”
Walking into the pack house and up to her bedroom with Luna. Opening the door, Luna helps her into her bed, “Are you leaving?”
“Yes. Alpha requests my presences, the visitors must be back.”
“Which is the one with black hair?”
Luna smiles at her, “Why? I wasn’t aware you have met either of them.”
“I think one of them is my mate.”
“What Songbird? Why am I just hearing this?”
“Forgive me Luna. I only saw him once and I’ve been happy and scared.”
“I know love. Rest tonight. Tomorrow is a new day.”
Closing her eyes as Luna closes the door behind her.
Gavin feels a bit of relief when the Luna walks into the meeting room. While he was away, his mate, that he has yet to approach, talk too, and mark was approached by a vampire. Judging by the smell the Alpha describes, this is not a Noble.
The Luna sits next to the Alpha and begins to recount the details. “She was about to take a swim when she smelt him. He smelt of cold dying flowers. He stood on the dock and asked her to come. When she didn’t respond, he moved the water’s so the raft came to shore.”
“He controls the waters.” My brother, Trent and beta says in our minds.
“Yes.”
“He backed from her and she got off the raft." The lady Luna continues, "He said his name was Tristan and he smelt her blood. He told my Songbird several times she smelt different and he didn’t want her blood, it was exciting to smell. When he ran from the warriors, he took a last smell saying she powered him up and he will see her again.”
Nodding, my wolf side going crazy, growling of the danger my mate is in and what did we cause to come upon her. Not to mention we didn’t mark her, she was defenseless. Now, my brother and I, we are not normal Werewolf’s or Lycans. We are something completely different. I know many Nobles. They are not interested in drinking human or wolf’s blood. They learned long ago, too many things that encompass blood. Memoires, sweat from where they bite, feeling the pain as life is being drained, and the smell of fear. Judging by what this Tristan said, he’s a Noble, but the smell.
“Excuse me Alpha King.”
The Lady Luna calls to me with worried eyes. “Yes, Lady Luna. What can I answer for you?”
“My Songbird asked for the visitor with black hair. Are you her mate? And if so, why have you not approached her.”
Glancing at my brother, “Yes, she is my mate. Thou, I would love to run and take her. There is still business to attend too. What kind of King would I be if I could not control myself?”
“Is your intention to approach her and take her when you depart?”
“Yes. We have completed our business and I do intent to stay a few days longer to meet with my mate.”
The Luna looks as if she wants to cry. “Lady Luna, what are your reservations?”
“Forgive me. My Songbird has been through a lot and I'm just worried about her.”
“I would love to hear about this. I am always interested in what would affect my future Queen and Luna.”
Standing, “But at this time, my Queen is outside. I want to make time to speak with her. Please excuse me, Alpha, Luna.”
My brother stands with me and we leave the meeting room together.
