Ellie’s POV 

"It’s up, just use your vamp speed, and run through quickly, your gonna burn a little but nothing life threatening" chase said to me. I opened the door, and put the jacket over my head. The sun had risen, and the birds were just waking up. Something seemed different. I used my vamp speed, and ran through the portal.

After chase came through max closed the portal. "I left a remedy on the counter for your burns Ellie" max said, I went to pick up the ointment, but then I realized I’m not hurt. I checked what little skin was exposed, when I had to run in the sun, but I was fine. "I’m not burned" I said confused. Chase, and max looked at me like I had two heads "are you sure the jacket didn’t really cover much" chase said approaching me. He checked where I was exposed, but seen nothing. "Wait I want to try something thanks again max" I said leaving his apartment "no problem my lusty bat". I got on the elevator, Joey, and Chase following along, and went to the front desk "Curtis can you open the sunroof” I ask the red head Phoenix who works the lobby front desk (the same Phoenix that "welcomed me" when I first got here) . "What are you doing" Joey asked "WHAT! NO!" Chase yelled at the same time "I want to see something" I said turning back to face them "you will burn in sun Ellie" Joey said "I didn’t just now" I argued "you had joeys jacket that’s why" chase spat back at me. I was getting angry "just do it Curtis" I said turning back to the front desk. Chase stepped forward "no don’t" I frowned at chase then looked back at Curtis "I said do it Curtis" he reached for the button hesitantly, then pulled his hand back.

Chase’s POV

We were so close, Ellie almost burned in the sun. Next time I know when to return. will never happen again not on my watch, she makes it so hard to protect her, she’s so stubborn. Like now trying to open the sunroof. "I said No, and I’m in charge here" I said sternly. I have to protect Ellie it’s my duty. My father told me Phoenix are allied with succubi. Long ago pure incubus couldn’t walk the earth. The first ever incubus, made a deal with the king of the underworld, he would let them on earth if they would send their male offspring to the underworld until they are of age. The spell to bring a incubus called for a anchor, and Phoenix protectors of earth at the time offered to be that, as long as incubus follow the beings law. Pure incubi can’t walk in the sun, so the succubi asked Phoenix for protection, and we agreed. That changed when succubi could be anchors, but the royal Phoenix must always protect the royal succubi bond by blood. "I’ll stand off to the side, and only put my hand in it" Ellie said annoyed. I stared at her thinking "trust me" she said, I looked at Curtis, and nodded "thanks" Ellie said, as she walked over by the elevators where it would be shaded. 

Ellie’s POV

Curtis opened the sun roof, and I stuck my hand into the light. It didn’t burn I stepped under the sun hesitantly, and it kissed my skin. I’ve never been in the son before. It’s better then I dreamed. "Ellie..." chase called for my attention. "I can walk in the sun" I said lowly.  "I can walk in the sun" I said this time just so the three of them to hear. "What has changed" I asked out loud to no one in particular. "I thought when you were a baby the sun burned your skin?" Joe asked "that’s what my mother told me" I responded "your in touch with your succubus powers now" chase said.

Chase’s POV

"Why are you taking succubi" I asked Collin. He stared at me with a devilish smirk on his face. I punch him in the jaw again, causing him to spit out blood. "Please tell me your taking it easy on me" Collin teased, laughing hysterically. I looked over to Joey, and he nodded. "Actually I have been" I kicked the chair he was tied to over, so he was facing the ceiling. Joey left the room, and locked the door behind him. "Now I know your looking for the succubi with the purple eyes, what do you want from her" stared at me with the same devilish smirk never leaving his face. "Joey" I heard the click from the switch outside, then a low humming. The humming sound filled the room, followed by a low light from the ceiling. As the light got brighter the humming sound stop. Collin started screaming in agony. "Joey" I signaled Joey the light cut off immediately. "How was that, it won’t kill you, but it hurt doesn’t" Collin was breathing heavy, trying to escape his restraints "what do you want from the succubi" I asked Collin again "f**k you" Collin yelled "Joey!" I yelled

Damien’s POV

"He said he was going to have a little fun but i haven’t seen..." I raised my hand "it’s only been a few hours" at that moment Sebastian appeared in my office using vamp speed "just chain him up down stairs, find out what he knows" she was about to argue but then she left the room using her vamp speed. "you wanted me" Sebastian asked "yes we are leaving today" I said
