Chapter 11

Ellie’s POV

"I love you" the scene around me changed, I was outside a bar. I felt so empty, I couldn’t feel Tobias. I walked into the bar, and sat at a stool . Someone greeted me, his voice sounded familiar, but I just sat there "What can I get you" I sat there looking forward, I just couldn’t find my voice. The man came closer "Ellie?" I snapped out of it, and acknowledged the voice. The man had black hair, hazel brown eyes, a 5 o’clock shadow, and dark brown-skin. "Nathan, so this is one of your bars" I said he sat the cup he had in his hand on the bar, and waved for me to come around. "Yeah, come around" I stood up from the stool, and walked around the bar. Tobias always has a plan, how will I survive without him. I followed Nathan through a doorway behind the bar. "Here" Nathan walked over to a cabinet, and got a small bottle out. "Drink this" I took the bottle from him, and drank it. I trust him, I met Nathan at the mansion he is a good friend of Tobias. "This should mask your scent for a few days" he then gesture me to the sofa, as he walked back into the bar. I sat on the sofa, and took in everything, the room was like a small studio. The bed was separated from the rest of the room with a wall divider. The bathroom was another room by itself next to the kitchen area. He returned with a backpack, and joined me on the sofa. "you can speak freely this room is enchanted only certain people can enter, and you can’t hear a thing "Did Tobias tell you I was coming?" I asked "something like that, he told me if you ever came in my bar, I should take care of you, and give you refuge" he laid the backpack next to me, I handed him the small bottle he stood, and retuned it to the cabinet. "You can have the bed, I barely use it, I normally come back after the bar closes, and crash on the couch anyways" I nodded, he pointed to the bathroom door "the bathroom is between the bedroom, and kitchen area, the bedroom is on the other side of the divider" he stood to his feet, and walked to the door. " I know it’s huge try not to get lost" he said walking out I let out a giggle. I took the bag with me into the bathroom, when I went through it I found pajamas, two outfits, money, a wooden box, and a necklace. The necklace was a locket, and when I opened it, my mother, and Christian were on one side, Tobias on the other. I rub my thumb over the photo of Tobias. First my mother then, my heart. I close, and put the locket around my neck.

The next night

Ellie POV

"Are you sure, Tobias told me he would come for you" Nathan said, I put the backpack on my shoulders. "he can’t come for me, I have to find him" I told him " something bad happened, I can’t feel him" I continued when he cut me off "Tobias is a strong person he can handle anything, he will come for you, if your not here when he does" he looked off to the side, and continued. "Let’s just say he can be really scary" I walked to the doorway "at least tell me where your going" he yelled after me "don’t worry about me, I’m tougher then I look" I said before leaving out the bar. After almost ten minutes I got a taxi "where are you headed" he asked looking me in my eyes, his expression friendly "cedarwood" he turned around facing the road, and pulled off "your in cedarwood little lady" I stared out the window, Ive never been in this area before. "Dee’s diner" he started messing with the fare "alright Dee’s diner".

When I got to the diner I paid the taxi, and went inside to eat. I was just finishing up my shake when the waitress approached me again. "Here’s you change" I lightly pushed her hand back "keep it" I said, before I grabbed my bag, and left walking down the road. I walked for about two miles then I turned onto a dirt road. I kept walking, until I reached a large apartment building. I walked to the front doors, It looks abandoned on the outside. In front of the door was a circle made of symbols on the ground. I don’t know what they mean, but chase told me they were a blood spell that unlocked the safe house. I took my bag off my shoulders, and dug the small knife out of it. I cut my hand, letting my blood drip on the symbols, forming a circle. The door opened, I went inside, it closed behind me. "How did you find us" the man, with red hair, standing at the front desk asked he had on a security uniform, and his blood smelled like fire. "I need a apartment, I have cash" I took my bag off to pull out the money "Stop, your kind aren’t welcome here, put you bag on, and leave" I pulled the bag over my shoulders. Four other men with red hair in uniforms surrounded me, their blood smelt of fire also. What’s going on, and my kind what does he mean. "Is this not a shelter for beings" I asked "for all beings but your kind leave vampire" his eyes turned red and his fist caught fire. Pheonix.. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, they were purple, they all gasped. The man still standing behind his desk sat a crossbow on the desk. "I like to speak with chase senior or junior"

the man picked up the phone. "She’s here" another one of the men approached me cautiously "would you like me to take your bag. "No" I said clinching my bag, he backed off with his hands up in surrender. two other guards walked to the door I came in from, and let down a huge lock. "Ellie" I looked over, to see chase shocked "chase" I ran to his arms. Chase, has bright fire red hair, his skin is tanned perfectly, and he his built like a god. "Ellie, I can’t believe your okay" he said hugging me tightly "where have you been, I stop getting letters about a year ago" he asked "with Tobias in the underworld" he looked at me strangely "I know, but I survived see" I did a spin "I’m just glad you found me come on" I followed him to the elevator. The main entrance of the apartment building didn’t have much, just the front desk, tv and sofa. The walls were a light brown color, and the furniture matched the scheme. When we entered the elevator chase pressed the number 2, and we got off at his floor. "Just down here" he said as I followed him out the elevator, to his apartment. "Apartment 207 don’t forget, its where you will be living" he unlocked the door, and we went inside. The apartment was cozy, the furniture looked expensive. The scheme matched the lobby different browns, and tans. The kitchen was on the right when you first walk in, and the rooms, and bathroom to the left. The strangest thing was outside the two huge windows in the living room showed a neighborhood at night. "How? We were just outside cedarwood" he laughed. "the building is enchanted, they moved us to a cloaked street in cedarwood" he sat on the sofa "I’ve been moving the building outside cedarwood every night for a year hoping you come" I joined him on the sofa "what had happened since I’ve been gone" chase expression turned uneasy "that night, Ghar sealed the doors from selcaide to earth. The Blake family killed all earth hunters, and destroyed the succubus mansion" he sat up "Did your parents survive" I asked "We lost my mother" I cut him off with a hug "I’m so sorry this is all my fault" he pulled away "No it’s not, my family are warriors, my mother willingly fought for you, and your family, it’s my father’s duty, and mine as well" I hugged him again. "thanks, but I can’t ask that of you" I looked at him "where is your father" I asked. Chase gaze left mine "he was imprisoned with hibiscus after trying to take on, what’s left of the Blake family.” I gasped in shock. "the remaining incubi and succubi, are here with us, we aren’t accepting beings at this time, for their protection" I stood to my feet "what do you mean" I started pacing "they’ve been killing them, on their search for you" he said stopping me in my tracks.
