“I found out I was a witch when I was 8 then I was bitten by a vampire when I was 13.” He was stunned, “That’s not possible.” “Really? This is the city where it all started. You remember don’t you? Hearing me sneaking back in, my sobbing from my room as I thought I was dying. Oh wait that’s right you weren’t around; you were off sleeping with Maria my babysitter. Go home Eric, let’s pretend I did die that night.” I take Ky’s hand as I feel his pride yet sorrow for me. “What the f**k have you done to my daughter?” he yelled at Mark, I saw the twitch just before he get for his gun but thanks to my newly founded speed I was quicker and I aimed my gun at my own father. “Don’t! If you shot him, I will shot you.” “I taught you everything you know, you aren’t good enough to hit me.” I chuckled sadly, “I was always better but I allowed you to believe that you were still the best.” He pointed the gun at me just over Marks shoulder, I pointed mine at him. “Come little girl, let’s see just how badly your skills have dropped?” He fires first then I do, for 2 seconds no one even breathes, I move and his bullet hits the wall behind me but mine hits his shoulder. “I think your done here General, my squad is staying put.” My father gets back into his waiting car and speeds away, as soon as he is out of sight I collapse and cry. I shot my own father! There was no coming back from this. “Ky picked me up and cradled me against his chest and carried me up to my room. He laid me down and laid down behind me and just held me as I tried to sort out everything that had happened. “You proved everyone right today.” He whispered. “How? I'm surprised their not ashamed of me.” I said sadly. “Ashamed? Why would we be? You should up for yourself and for us, you chose to be with us and I for one am extremely happy and relieved your staying with us.” I chuckled at him. “I shot my father, and I don’t feel completely guilty about it.” “That’s because your loyalty shifted to us when we accepted who and what you are without thought or question, besides since you’re mated with Ky your wolf side will stay wherever he is.” He winked at me, “No more secrets.” Avalea said lovingly. “Well I have 2 more actually, my mother is the vampire that turned me but I am not bound to her and secondly I had a mental conversation with fate.” I told them every detail of my conversation with this mystery fate person/thing. “What else can you become?” Avalea said quietly.“I'm not sure and I'm a little too scared to find out to be honest, I already have 4 sides.” They all hug me and suddenly I know how it feels to be part of a family.
