A Sad Murder

Heart Attack

Violet and her daughter Julia were dumbstruck at the sight in front of them. "My...my...son" she said his name with quivering lips and slowly touched his hand. "No....my...son" she sobs trembling so hard. Dizziness hits her and she collapsed right on the wheel chair she was seated. Brad and Nicole together with the cop rushed to revive Violet up but it wasn't working, while they were yet to revive her, Julia as well slumped to the floor.

"Mother! Julia!" Nicole cried out in panic.

The cop ran out to call for help from the second cop. "I need some help!" he yells from the doorway and ran back inside to Violet and her daughter.

"Mom!" Kylie cried out when she got inside and saw her mom on the floor. She glance beside her mom and she saw Julia's body lying halfway on the floor with Nicole holding her head up and trying to revive her. "Julia!" she exclaims leaving her mom for Julia. "What happened to them?" she trembles.

"They couldn't take the shock from seeing your brother's corpse" the cop replies and Kylie breakdown into sobs. "We need to take them to the hospital right away" he continues and glance up at his colleague.

The second cop named Rob nods at him in response and he wheeled Violet out, while Brad carried Julia in his arms out of the morgue with the others following behind. The cop guy with the name Felix who had led them in earlier stayed back and covered up Drake's body before following them behind.

Violet and her daughter Julia were rushed to the hospital. Julia woke up 30minutes later after they got to the hospital, but Violet was still in the ER because her condition got more critical.

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have let my mother go into the morgue after watching her fight for her life few hours ago" Kylie wails while they were all sitting in the hallway waiting for updates from the doctor.

"Hey, don't blame yourself, it's not your fault. She only wanted to see her son and you couldn't have prevented her from doing so" Brad said.

"But if I had talked her to it then there's a possibility she might have listened to me" Kylie sobs continuously on Jay's chest.

"None of this is your fault Kylie, you don't have to blame yourself over this" Jay said and pulls her closer and patted her back.

"Drake, brother" Julia mumbles in Nicole's arms and Nicole gaze down at her and cupped her face.

"Julia, are you okay?" Nicole asks in a worriedly.

"Brother, you're alive" she mumbles weakly and flashed a smile. She tries to jiggle free from Nicole's hold but Nicole held her still.

"Julia stop, you're scaring me" Nicole's voice went into a panic and that alerted the others.

"Let me go, I want to go hug my brother he's over there waiting for me" Julia continues jiggling her body and her gaze remains on the opposite direction of the hallway. Everyone's gaze fell on where Julia's gaze was fixed and nothing but the hospital walls could be seen. Kylie stood up and rushed up to her sister.

"Julia, there's no one there but walls" Kylie said taking her sister's hand to hers.

Julia flinched from her hold and said, "That's not true! My brother is standing right there. Drake tell them you're alive!" she yells struggling from their grip on her.

"Oh my God, this can't be happening. My sister is hallucinating and she's in panic" Kylie sobs holding her head confused with the situation.

"Julia calm down. Jay get a doctor or a nurse, she needs to calm down" Brad half-yells pining down Julia. Jay did as he was told immediately and in a matter of seconds a female doctor and a nurse came running to them.

"What's wrong with her?" the female doctor asks examining Julia.

"She's hallucinating, she thinks my brother is alive and present with us right now when he's actually dead. Doctor please do something to calm her down" Nicole explains in a rush.

"I'll give her a sedative drug right away to calm her down" the doctor said and collected the injection from the nurse.

"Let me go, nothing is wrong with me. You all are too blind to see what I'm seeing!" Julia blabs struggling to escape from their grip.

The doctor got closer to Julia and held her arm but Julia jiggles from her hold. "Please hold her still" the doctor instructed and Brad and Jay with Nicole held Julia still while the doctor injected her with the drug.

"Let me....." Julia's words went hanging as sleep take charge of her.

"Get her to one of the wardroom" the doctor instructed the nurse and she exited to go get a trolley for Julia.

"Doctor, will she be okay?" Kylie asks worriedly.

"Yes, she just needs a little bit of time to get over the lost. For the meantime, she needs to rest" the doctor answers and right then the nurse appeared back with a colleague and the trolley. Julia was placed on it and they exited with her to one of the vacant wardroom.

"Doctor do you have any idea of the condition of the patient in the ER, our mother I mean to say?" Brad asks.

"No, I'm not among the doctors taking care of your mother right now, but I can help find out how things is going if you want me to" the doctor offered.

"It'll be so much appreciated, thank you" Brad said.

"I'll be right back" she replies and exited to the ER.

"Once again it's all my fault, I shouldn't have allowed her go in there. Seeing my brother has made everything become so worst. My mom condition became critical and my sister is no longer in her right state of mind. What would have happened to me If I had gone in there with them? Perhaps it would have been my own death. This is all just like a nightmare" Kylie's words came out more hurting than it has never been.

"Kylie this is not going to help matters here. We're talking about your mom's health and that of your sister's and you're busy talking about death. Is one death not enough for you? How does your dying solve everything that has happened or less more raise Drake back to life, huh? f*****g tell me!" Nicole yells out her frustration and pains she's been hiding just to comfort Drake's family.

"Yes Nicole, yes, death is the only way I can stop having this horrible nightmare that has fallen upon my family!" Kylie retorted in tears.

"Then go ahead and kill yourself! Kill yourself!" Nicole snapped back in tears.

"Both of you should stop!" Jay yells at them standing in their middle. "I know you both are tensed with all that is going on but please don't take it out on yourself, it's the least thing Brad and I want to deal with right now".

Awkward silence erupted between the four of them. Nicole couldn't hold it any longer, she took a step and embrace Kylie. "I'm.. sorry" she muffles out sobbing uncontrollably.

"No...I'm sorry" Kylie muffles out as well, her sobs never ending. It was a moment of sadness and tears as they envelope each other in a comforting embrace. Brad and Jay stared at the two ladies with sadness in their eyes.

Just a little more minutes and they'll join in the weeping but the appearance of the female doctor got them to sober up. "Doctor, how is she?" Brad asks startling the girls apart.

Their attention was drawn to the doctor. They were all looking so nervous as they awaits for the doctor response. The look on the doctor's face tells something was not right.

"Doctor tell me my mom is alive" Kylie croaked, her body shuddering.

"I'm sorry to tell you this but your mom's condition is so critical that her chances of survival is not guaranteed. She had a heart attack which was very risky for her vital organs since she's also diabetic. The doctors are trying their best to keep her alive in there" the doctor announces the bad news to them.

Sudden dizziness hits Kylie and her legs started wobbling. She reached out for Nicole's hand and Nicole held her steady. "Kylie, are you okay?" Nicole's voice went indistinct to Kylie's ear and she blinks repeatedly.

Kylie couldn't stand on her own feet anymore, she slumped and almost hit the floor, but Nicole and the guys held on to her body. Nicole gape shockingly at what was unfolding in front of her and all she could do was stared down blankly at Kylie's unconscious body in Jay's arms. This was all too much to handle right now, she thought.
