6 year old Maddison
Jayden's POV (Almost 10 years later)
The day that I was announced as an omega was the day that my life started to change. My own pack growled at me whenever I would walk by. My parents changed, they wouldn't even spare me a glance. They've never physically hurt me, well except for my dad but they've never really shown that they loved me since that day. All the love that they could show, they showered it to Sebastian. I wasn't even allowed to call them "Mom" and "Dad" anymore only "Maam" and "Sir".
Sebastian, he never really thought of me as a brother anymore. He said that he didn't want to be brothers with a pathetic weakling like me. He'd even beat me up when I didn't do as he asked. So I try to avoid him as much as I can, which is hard considering that I live with him.
But the thing that hurt me the most was that even Maddison changed. The morning after being marked as an omega, I went to Maddy's house to ask if she wanted to play. I still remembered everything that happened
Flashback-
Walking through the pack, ignoring the hateful glares I headed towards the packhouse to ask Maddy if she wanted to play. Opening the door, I walked in the house headed for Maddy's room.
"What are you doing here??" I jumped and saw Maddy's father, the Alpha standing in the living room.
"I was just wondering if Maddy wanted to play today Alpha." I say giving him a light bow.
"An Omega is never allowed in the packhouse unless called upon by the Alpha." He said with such power, the power of an alpha causing me to flinch. "I'm sorry Alpha, it won't happen again" I said while bowing my head.
"It better not Omega. And I don't want to see you with Maddison again. Alphas never associate with Omegas." He said in his Alpha voice. Nodding my head I turned around and left the packhouse. Running though pack grounds, I ran into the woods with only one place in mind. Its a place I found while walking though the woods yesterday while thinking of a reason why being an omega made everyone hate me so much in so little time.
A beautiful waterfall.
The sound of the water crashing down relaxed me. It made me forget of all the problems that I was starting to face, even for just a few minutes before crashing back into reality.
End of flashback
The reality that I was now an unwanted and hated member of the pack. The reality that my own parents didn't want me for being who I was. The reality, that I was all alone.
Funny right?? A pack of over 100 members and I was all alone. But that's the truth. I had no one, no friends, no family, nothing. Through the years I learned to cope though, I learned to stay out of everyones way, I learned to ignore all the hateful glares I recieved and I've learned how to live with this lonely feeling in my heart knowing that one day this will all change. That one day someone will love me for who I am, that someone will accept me not because of my pack status but because she genuinely wants to be with me. That one day, I will meet my mate. The one person given to us by our Moon Goddess, the other half of my soul, the love of my life.
And that will all become possible by tomorrow because tomorrow is my 17th birthday, the day that my wolf is mature enough to sense our mate.
"I can't wait to meet our mate tomorrow Jay" I heard my wolf talk to me. "Me too bud. I just wish tomorrow would come faster instead of us sitting here in math listening to Mr. Gooch ask us to 'Find X' "Don't get me wrong I had good grades, I just didn't feel that "finding X" was important i getting us through life.
"I know right?? I mean how can you find your X since you've never had a girlfriend all your life. Not that I'm complaining cause I'd rather wait for mate." I groaned. Why did the Goddess give me a dumb wolf??
"Hey genius, I'm a part of you. I can hear your thoughts. And newsflash, if you call me dumb you might as well call yourself that." He growled "Says the one who wanted to enroll in Hogwarts cause he thought it'd be cool to be a werewolf wizard." I mentally smirk as Ischyros (a/n its read as is-kay-ros) or Ros as I like to call my wolf growled.
"I KNOW!! You don't have to remind me every damn time. But you have to admit that being a werewolf wizard would be cool." I smiled, throughout the years I was thankful that I atleast had Ros with me.
"Yeah. That would be cool"
"Mr. Grey, would you like to enlighten us with your thoughts??" I looked to see Mr. Gooch glaring at me. You see, Mr. Gooch as well as everyone in the whole school, except for a few human students, were part of the pack.
Fun right?? From staying in a house where I am clearly unwanted, to staying in a building where everybody hates me. What great joy. Note the sarcasm there.
Out of all the teachers here, Mr. Gooch hated me the most. He'd do everything to make my stay in school miserable. From giving me a low grade on an assignment, even though I know that I deserved a higher score, to giving me detention for being two minutes late. TWO MINUTES!!!
"Sorry sir. It won't happen again." He grunted before going back to his lesson.
"I swear he's lucky that you can't shift yet cause if so, I would have taken over and bitten of something off that would forever scar his dignity as a man." It took me a minute to realize what he meant and I tried my best to not let anyone notice me chuckling at my wolf.
First of all Ros, that's really disgusting and second, it's not like we could really win a fight against another wolf. Were an Omega remember?? Not that I have a thing against being an Omega, I respect the Goddess's decision but still we have to be realistic here."
"You really need to have more faith in yourself Jay. The status of being an Omega is only that, a status, a title, but it doesn't have to define who you can be." I smiled at that just as we hear the bell ring signaling the end of another day in school.
After packing up my stuff I went out of the classroom and headed for the school exit. Trying to go unnoticed, I zig-zaged through ignoring the bumps and shoves that I received until I saw the exit.
Opening the door I walked through but not before being grabbed from behind and dragged back in, stumbling and falling on the school floor.
"Well looky here, what's the rush Omega??" I looked up to see Mason Mclaire, Maddison's older brother ad future Alpha of the Silver Moon pack and he wasn't alone.
Behind him were the two future warriors, Toby Anderson and Chris Miller. "
Probably trying to avoid us." I looked up behind me, not seeing the last member of their group. A person I know all too well.
My brother.
I stood up and looked down to the floor avoid eye contact. "I-I just w-wanted to head home t-to start my homework" I stuttered quietly.
"Not just weak Omega, but a nerd as well. Sebastian, man your brother is such a doofus" Toby laughed followed by the Chris and Mason while Sebastian just looked at me, disgusted.
"He's no brother of mine." He snarled as he grabbed me by my shirt giving me a punch to the face making me wither to the ground in pain.
It looked like he wasn't satisfied with that, so he gave me a kick on stomach while the others just looked on with an amused expression.
You might be asking, why isn't someone doing anything to stop this?? Why aren't the school staff stopping this?? Well let me remind you that almost everyone here in school apart from some human students, is a member of my pack. And the pack hates my very existence remember ??
After the kick Sebastian grab me by my hair making me look up at him with pleading eyes, begging him to stop this. But to no avail, he just gave me another punch to my face.
"Look at me." I heard him say. I didn't want to. I didn't want to look at the person who I thought would be with me through everything. To the person who said he'd protect me from the monster under my bed when I was 6 and he was 8. To the person who I always looked up to when I was young. To my older brother. Well, I guess I'm wrong, like he said 'I wasn't his brother.' not anymore.
"I said look at me!!" He growled. I looked up, looking at his eyes I thought I saw a feeling of regret in them but it quickly disappeared. His punch must have damaged my brain or something, cause I'm seeing things that I know could never be possible.
He growled again making me look down. "Your just a waste of space. A worthless. Piece. Of. Trash." It took everything in me not to let my tears fall. I've learned to ignore every insult, every beating that I received but it just hurts more that the one beating you up, the one insulting you is your family.
"I wouldn't be surprised if your mate rejected you." Now that hit a nerve and a single tear fell down my face.
"Look at you. Who would ever want you?? Nobody. Not now, not ever." With that said he walked away with his group leaving me here in pain, both physically and emotionally.
Standing up I headed for the door when I notice a familliar pair of gray eyes looking at me. There was only one person I knew with those eyes.
Maddison.
We looked at each other for a few seconds before she turned around without a word to the other direction from where I was heading.
"Hang in there Jay. Tomorrow we'll meet our mate and everything will be okay." Ros assured me. "Your right. Tomorrow we can finally be happy. " I replied before heading home.
I can't wait to meet you tomorrow. Mate.
