FIFTEEN
Barney Rubble was manning reception when they got back, ‘Barney, your family, they are well?’
‘Yes, very well, thank you,’ Mandy went to go upstairs.
‘Buzz me through Barney.’
‘Where're you going?’ Mandy asked, surprised at his change of direction.
‘Nylon, a quick word in his shell like, see you up there Dobbin,’ and he disappeared down the corridor.
Mandy was left looking at a confused Barney, whom she liked, and more so since he had helped save her life when she was shot at outside the station. ‘He calls us the dynamic duo, the Robin has become Dobbin; that’s me.’ She held her hands out and shrugged.
‘Oh.’
‘See you, and cod and chips twice, please,’ and she ran through the door giggling.
