 I sat on a rock by the lake. The fire was still alive. I stared at the smoke. I took in the smell. I heard the wood cracking.  Looking at the sun set, it felt strangely empowering to be alone. Ansh came and sat beside me. He said nothing. I said nothing. The sky was red. The fire was finally dead. I leaned to his side and dropped my head on his shoulder. We breathed in synchrony.  "I love you." I confessed for the 'I don't remember the number!'th time. Ansh had never given me an answer. I didn't expect any.  My head moved up with his shoulder as he took a deep breath. My head moved down with his shoulder as he exhaled with the same depth.  "Don't answer...It's okay."
