At 9:02 the next morning, Tony Stark burst through the conference room doors. Standing two feet inside the door, was a very angry Dallas. “What do you think you are doing? You said if we were late we don’t get info. No info for you.”
Tony smirked. “The rule doesn’t apply if you are the one giving the info.”
Dallas looked as if she wanted to argue, but realized it would be pointless. She sat, crossing her arms over her chest mumbling various curses under her breath.
“Welcome everyone. Bruce, Clint, Nat, nice to see you again. Child of theirs who’s name escapes me, welcome to the tower. First order of business, Alexis, you need to be injected with the same serum as Captain.”
Alexis frowned. “Yuck. Needles.”
Nick smiled. “Sorry. I’m still working on getting it like the flu mist. You should feel special Alex, I had to develop a completely new serum for you so you don’t look like a female body builder. On your tiny body, it would’ve looked weird”
“Rude, but thank you.” Ales huffed.
Dallas chuckled. “So... who is this bad guy anyways?”
Tony flicked his wrist, and a large symbol flew above the table. “We believe that the terrorist group, Big Bad Guys is behind the attack on Stark Enterprises.”
“When I analyzed the bomb fragments, the serial number for one of the bombs was faintly printed. After further research I discovered this group bought that particular bomb on the black market.” Nick continued.
Tony smiled. “We are still looking for their HQ, but once we find it that’s where you all come in. You can go undercover and find it. Because no one knows exactly who you are you can go in undetected.”
"Really, Big Bad Guys, They couldn't think of anything better?" Alex face palmed.
"They are really terrible with names but, they are very good with attacks." Tony shrugged
Dallas smiled. “Ninja... I like the sound of that.” Trying to get everyone on track.
“Yes, I suppose you are going to be ninjas. The three of you, after we give Alex the serum, are going undercover to find out where the next attack will be located. After we find that out, the Avengers will come out of hiding and kick butt.” Tony said.
“What about me.” A small voice from the other end of the room chimed. “What do I get to do?”
Everyone turned, and saw her standing there. The adopted child of Natasha. For being adopted, she looked like Nat. Wild red hair curling in every direction. “You will go with the other girls... um... what is your name again?”
“Lily.” she said, quietly.
“Well, Lily, you are going undercover with the other girls. Can you handle that?” Tony asked.
Suddenly, Lily was gone. She had disappeared into thin air. Two seconds later, a voice piped up from behind Tony. “I think I can.” Everyone turned, to find her sitting on top of the large TV in the conference room.
“Holy s**t!” Alexis gasped. “You are a real ninja!”
Dallas was not amused. “Well, her mom is Black Widow, what did you expect?”
“I don’t know, my brain’s fuzzy from the coffee.” she finished.
“I thought we had a deal Alex!” Stark said.
“The deal was I wouldn't BUY Coffee. I didn't buy it. I just drank it.”
Stark turned to glare at him, and he shrugged. “I didn’t know about it..”
Dallas was even less amused. She pinned Steve to the wall and said, through gritted teeth, “That’s what you said last time.”
“FOCUS!!” Nick shouted. “Alexis, go get a glass of water and try to cool down. Dallas, put the nice man down, please.”
“No.” Dallas seemed intent on ringing his neck.
Thor walked up to Dallas. “Dallas, we will need him later. Please put the poor fellow down.”
Dallas sighed. “Fiine.”
Thor smiled, and leaned in to kiss Dallas, but she walked away before he had the chance.
“Rejection!” Alexis yelled.
“Can we move on now?” Bruce said. “I’m tired of listening to you guys bicker. I really don’t want the other guy to come out and make a mess.”
“We do not bicker!” Dallas yelled.
Thor put his hand on her shoulder. “I really think we should listen to Banner.”
Dallas glared at Thor, but didn’t say another word. Tony sighed. “If we can’t all get along this is going to be very hard.”
“Agreed,” Steve chimed. “I think we should all agree to not argue, ever.”
Everyone nodded, except for Dallas. When she got dirty looks from her friends, she said “I can’t make any promises.”
“Will you at least try?” Nick said.
“Possibly.”
“Please Dallas.” Alexis pleaded.
“Whatever.”
“Good enough for me.” Steve said.
The group laughed, and began to mindlessly make small talk. The three companions decided to get to know Lily and Nat, while the boys went to talk to Banner. This casual conversation went on for a few minutes, after which Tony turned to Nickole. “Is the serum done yet?”
“Probably.” She replied.
“Good.” She turned to Alexis. “Alex?”
“Yes?” Alexis replied.
“It’s time.”
