First day on the job, first time jumping out of an airplane. Alexis, who was terrified of heights, was less than enthusiastic about the impending jump toward base camp, but she wanted to do her family proud. She was a 4th generation Marobella woman doing what her family did best, serving her country. Of course, the leader of this mission is none other than Captain America himself, and she was determined to make a good impression. She just needed to get out of the plane safe and sound first. The hatch opens, and Captain Rogers started yelling, “GO, GO, GO, GO!”
Alexis ran after the rest of her companions, and pulled her chord to open her parachute, but it broke. With the backup chord nowhere to be found, Alexis began to panic. She doesn’t scream, she just closed her eyes and awaited her impending doom. Tragedy happened all the time, it was just her time to go. Suddenly, she felt two secure arms around her waist, and a parachute is pulled. She looked up, and found that her savior is none other than the Captain himself. She smiles at him, but begins to slip. His grip isn’t as strong as it should have been, and Alexis feels herself falling. Quickly, she grabs his shield off his arm, and continues her fall. Since the snowy mountain that their camp is on is directly below her, she decided the best and really, the only thing she can do, is hope the shield will take the brunt of the fall. She landed using the shield as a sled to ride down the mountain. She slowed, stopping in the center of the base camp. The boys and girls who jumped with her landed soon after, and high-fived her and some even gave her hugs. No matter how it happened, it was a pretty bad-ass way to jump out of a plane. They always thought of Alexis as their younger sister. Most of them even call her Lil’ sis. She smiled at all of her fellow soldiers, and then spotted the Captain. She walked over to him, and handed him his shield back. “Thanks for saving my life, Captain Rogers.”
He pulled her aside. “You could have gotten killed! Are you insane?”
Taken aback by the question, Alexis stared at him dumbfounded. “Are you serious? I figured I was dead anyway. I took a chance and it paid off! I’m here and breathing, what more could you possibly want!? Sorry Captain Rogers, sir” Alexis forgot her rank for a moment and apologized.
Alexis turned to fall in line with the rest of the soldiers, but he stopper her by grabbing her shoulders. He turned her around to face him “Look, I don’t know who you are, but I have this strange feeling that I need to keep you safe. Is that a crime, to have feelings?”
“No, it’s not a crime. I’m just surprised sir.”
The Captain still hadn’t taken his hands off her shoulders, and was about to clear the short distance between the two, when the Captain’s cell phone began to ring. He answered the call, “This is Steve Rogers”. He handed the phone to Alex. “It’s for you. It's Dallas, How can a city call you?” “Dallas is my best friend from back home. Not a city, well also a city but not the point.” Alex took the phone “What do you need Dallas. I’m on base… No I don’t care what Nick said, I’m not available. UGH...Fine, but I’ll need a ride. The Himalayas, don’t ask stupid questions. Send someone and I’ll be there soon.”
She hung up the phone, and turned to the Captain. “I have some business back in the states, my friends told me they need me. They need you to Captain, Tony’s looking for you.”
Captain nodded and turned to his troops. “Alright, I’ve received information I have to go to work. Private Marobella and I will return as soon as we’ve taken care of it. In the meantime, you all had a successful jump.” He stopped to look at Alex correcting himself. “Most of you had a successful jump. I expect to hear nothing but good things when I return.”
“Where are we heading?” Steve put his shield on his back and turned to look at Alex.
“Where do you think? New York” Alex sighed and turned to the sound of a helicopter. “Looks like that's our ride, Let’s go Captain.
