Alex creeped over and looked through the peephole. Leigh was standing just outside pounding on different doors. “I know you’re in here Dal-pal!” Leigh used Dallas’ nickname from when she was a kid.
“Nick, you didn’t happen to bring your suit did you?” Alex whispered.
“Yes, I did. Why?” Nick whispered back.
“Get as far from the door as possible, Dallas, take your suit and go change, Leigh is outside with his lackeys. Steve did you bring your shield?” Alex whispered and headed to the bedroom.
“Yes, it’s right here.” Steve took out his shield as Dallas went to the bathroom and changed.
“Nick, Get ready to get out of here as soon as Dallas and I are ready.” Alex went into the bedroom and changed into her suit.
Closing the door on her way out Alex saw Dallas and Nick, each in their respective suits with Steve pulling on his mask, dressed in his suit.
Alex picked up her shield and looked at the group. “Let’s get the hell out of here!"
“Don’t have to tell me twice, Let’s go This way” Nick mouthed the last two words and headed toward the back entrance.
Dallas opened the door and was met with Leigh, right in front of her.
“Dal-pal, nice to see you again.” Leigh faked a smile.
“Get the hell out of our way Leigh.” Alex glared.
“You lied to me little Alexis, you said your friends were going to Jakarta and that you wanted nothing more to do with them.” Leigh grabbed Alex by the throat, holding a knife to her stomach. “This isn’t going to be good for you, didn’t I tell you there was a punishment for lying to me?” He slowly pressed the tip of the knife into her abdomen.
“Let her go.” Steve yelled.
I'm afraid I can't do that. She, Nickole and Dallas are very important to my future, so I need them to obey me..” Leigh laughed, removed the knife's tip and plunged it into her stomach repeatedly making sure that hilt was pressing against her abdomen. “Don’t you all look adorable. Oh and Lexi, you and Captain have matching suits, how sweet.” He looked at the deep scarlet liquid quickly staining the white of her suit and laughed.
“Leave us alone Leigh!” Nick shouted and quickly let out an energy burst at Leigh.
He dropped Alex, the knife remaining buried in her stomach.
Alex crumpled to the ground, trying to remove the knife, knowing her quick healing abilities wouldn’t kick in until the wound was unobstructed.
“It’s now or never!” Nick grabbed Dallas’ hand and flew off.
Steve grabbed Alex and took off running.
“Hey Nick, where are you headed?” Alex asked weakly through the com link she had placed in Nick’s watch.
“Florida, We need Tony and them.” Nick said back.
“Call them and relay back to the meeting place.” Steve said, running faster.
“On it, stay safe you too.” Dallas spoke.
“You guys too.” Alex replied before passing out in Steve's arms.
After running for an hour, Steve stopped in North Carolina to catch his breath and to make sure Alex was healing properly.
“You alright Alex?” Steve asked once they had gotten a drink at a cafe.
“Yeah, I’m just a bit sore right now.” Alex sipped her water with a shaking hand.
“Did Nick hit you at all?” Steve checked her over, pulling up her shirt slightly and wincing at the slowly healing knife wounds.
“I don’t think so, the choke hold he had on me hurt like a b***h, but not as much as the multiple stabs to the gut.” Alex rubbed her stomach gingerly. “Can we get going again, I don’t feel safe anymore.” Alex hugged Steve. “I can feel the wound stitching itself together, the bleeding has already stopped.
“Of course, Let’s head out.” Steve threw their water glasses away and laced his fingers through Alex’s. “I promise, nothing is ever going to happen to you again.”
“Thank you Steve, Really.” Alex got on her tiptoes to kiss Steve very sweetly.
“Let’s go love.” Steve smiled and took off.
Alex sighed happily and ran off after him.
“Hey Love birds, how goes it?” Nick called Alex about 2 hours later.
“Good, we just crossed the Florida Georgia Line.” (pun intended) Alex replied, slowing to talk to Nick.
“Hurry up, we’re waiting at Disney World!” Dallas shouted.
“Well, sorry we can’t fly, be there in 30.” Alex laughed and hung up.
“Trouble?” Steve asked when Alex caught up.
“No, just my friends being dorks as always, c’mon they’re waiting at Disney World.” Alex pushed her speed.
Alex and Steve reached Orlando and went straight to Disney World.
“Alex, how are we getting in?” Steve asked. “We don’t have tickets.”
“Steve, we don’t need them.” Alex grabbed Steve’s hand and walked up to the front of the line, people letting her pass without protest, a huge smile on their faces.
“Hi, my name is Alexis Mar-”
“Back of the line.”
“Excuse me?” Alexis knew this would happen, she really didn’t like causing a scene, but she was in a hurry.
“You heard me, back of the line. Missy.”
“Look I’m in a hurry, I just need to get in and get my passes” Alex huffed.
“I’d love to see you try.” The teen grinned.
“Can I speak to your manager?” Alex smiled back, hopefully they could get on their way soon.
“Absolutely” He gave her a s**t-eating grin, and yelled “Maria!”
“Thank God It’s Maria, She’s the fastest attendant in the park.” Alex thought.
“What now Louis?” Maria came into the ticket station.
“Maria!” Alex smiled warmly, “It has been way too long, How’s little Henry doing?”
“He’s getting so big, wanna see a picture?” Maria brightened when she saw Alex.
“Of Course!” Alex leaned in to see Henry, Maria’s grandson. “He’s getting so big on me!”
“I know, now what was the problem here?” Maria turned a glare to Louis.
“He tried making me go to the back of the line.” Alex said, It wouldn't be that big of a deal but we're running real behind meeting our friends, I was hoping to surprise them with some passes. Most of them have never been here before.”
“She isn’t supposed to budge in front of all these people.” Louis gestured to the crowd who were trying to get pictures.
“Louis, look at her face, and look at your manual. You see this list of names there, Marobella?”
“Yeah, everyone knows the Marobella’s” He said matter of factly.
“Well apparently not everyone.” Someone from the line behind me snickered.
“Hell Yeah!,” Alex turned around and took a few selfies with the people in line.
“As I was trying to say, My name is Alexis Marobella, and me and my boyfriend here would like tickets into this park. V.I.P passes too please. I would like to get 10 of those, I'm willing to pay for them.” Alex asked sweetly, returning to Steve’s side.
“Oh My God, I’m so sorry Ms. Marobella, I’ll get those right away, don't even think about paying it was my mistake” Louis went bright red.
“Thank you. Maria, you’ll have to send me a picture of Henry when he goes into middle school, tell him Auntie Al says hello.” Alex smiled as Louis handed her her tickets.
“Of course I will Alex. Have fun now” Maria opened the gate for them to walk through.
“Wow you weren’t kidding about your name were you.” Steve smiled as Alex put his wristbands on.
“Nope, It’s a blessing and a curse. I don’t like to pull the name card often but we’re in a hurry so what can ya do?” She smiled putting on her own bands. “Let’s go find the others.”
She whipped out her phone and called Nick. “Hey we just got in where are you?”
“We’re all eating at Coral Reef Restaurant, Hurry we want to ride more rides.” Nick hung up.
“Alright, let’s go.” Alex led Steve in the direction of their friends.
“ALEX!” Lily rushed up and hugged her.
“Hey girl, I missed you too.” Alex looked at her.
“Look, Alex, I messed up. I’m sorry I said any of those things, I would be honored if you would take the remaining spot in our Avenger’s team.” Tony came up.
“I’d love that Tony, and thank you for apologizing.” She hugged him.
“Oh by the way, you’re all gonna love me, even more than you already do. Of course” Alex did a happy dance.
“You didn’t!?” Dallas looked at Alex’s wrist at the VIP pass.
“Girl you know I did.” Alex passed her a wristband. “It wasn’t as easy as usual but I digress”
“You know I love you right?” Nick hugged her.
“Wait, what’s going on?” Bruce asked.
“Alex here got us all VIP passes, which includes passes to all the parks, a free snack or meal any time, all you can drink, fast pases on all the rides, and we can go meet any characters we want!” Lily squealed.
“Thanks Alex,” Everyone chorused.
“That must’ve cost a shitload, where did you get that money.” Clint asked.
“Do none of you know who I am?” Alex looked at them.
“You’re Alexis, what is there else to know?” Bruce looked confused.
“My name is Alexis Janine Marobella. 4th Generation Marobella, yes with each generation down we do get richer, and more famous.” Alex said.
“Holy s**t, how did we not notice!?” Nat screeched.
“So that’s how Nick got that watch that I have been drooling over since she came back.” Tony nodded at Nick longingly.
“Yup, so I suggest we enjoy this newfound development with a bunch of rides and all the selfies and pictures we can take with these characters!” Alex grinned.
“Let’s do it!” They all walked off together, glad to be back in each other's company, knowing at least for today, they didn’t have to worry about saving the world.
