'It hurts!' 'Aahh, it hurts so bad.' The pain was unbearable, or rather it had been centuries since Alucard felt this level of pain. It was so... Palpable. He blinked his eyes open, his body riddled with pain , he struggled to breathe, taking in deep breaths of air. He tried to stabilize himself. What was that voice he had heard just a while ago? He wasn't sure and wasn't so eager to find out. He calmed himself and spread his senses. First he had to find out where he was. Just as he had thought, he wouldn't die. "Wait, die? Why did I die?" He questioned himself. It was a little puzzling, why would he think of dying moments after waking up. With a groan, Alucard sat up. He was in a cave, from the looks of it a pretty deep one. He tried moving to stand up and just noticed the long gash across his leg, his side was also ripped open, blood slowly seeped out. Alucard was at a loss for words. He was bleeding? Such an odd occurrence. "What am I doing here again?" He questioned himself continuously, the answer it seemed was fairly out of reach. With a sigh he dragged himself to his feet. The gash along his leg sent blinding pain up his being, he limped away, tired, hungry and in pain. So much pain. Alucard knew himself, he knew he was the King Of Vampires, but that was about it. His origin, powers, and ancestry was all alien to him. He felt alien in his own body. How odd. Regardless, he dragged himself out of the cave, grounding his teeth in frustration, he marched on. Further till he could see the light, further ahead. He could feel the darkness that enveloped him start to diminish. Light slowly seeping into the cave. Alucard stopped in his steps. Something was surely wrong. Just up ahead, he could see light. Light? There was no light in Nihthelm. Just the encompassing darkness of the realm, the subtle red glow of the blood moon. That was it. He had an ominous feeling that something tragic must have happened while he slumbered. Regardless, he couldn't stay in this cave with such a weakened body. He needed to feed, and quickly. Soon he stood just at the entrance of the cave. It was unmistakable, this heat and light that blinded him, covering the entire lands. It was sunlight. Which meant, he wasn't in Nihthelm, he was in Deaglix. A deep scowl appeared on his face. His death was imminent and he didn't currently have a sun ring with him. He didn't have anything with him. He looked down at himself, covered in dried blood, dirt and rags. His stench was almost palpable. But he was Alucard. Surely a little sun wouldn't burn that badly, he may have a scar or two but nothing too serious. Feeling a bit hesitant, he inched closer to the rim of the cave. If he was wrong however, he would burn to death. That was even more painful than having your heart being ripped out or being staked with silver. He sighed and closed his eyes, only one way to find out... He tightened his closed eyes and jumped, out into the open, into the sun. Into the embrace of burning death. Alucard landed on the soft grass that spread about like a plague, the soft stench of nature violated his senses, making him reel back in disgust. He shielded his eyes from the blinding light, his eyes had yet to adjust to it. It was only then, did he realize that he was immune to the scorching power of the sun. What the hell? He flexed his fingers, looked around his body. He didn't see fumes of smoke or the smell of burning flesh. Nothing, just... Nothing. It felt strange, not being burnt by the sun. But at that moment, a certain memory flung itself from that depths of his being. "No no no. Surely it can't be. He couldn't be..." He whispered under the sun. Yet he couldn't explain otherwise. "A Dhampir..." His fingers reached out to his face, slowly stroking his own chin. A Dhampir. 'A Dhampir.... A Dhampir? Like a half breed between a human and a Vampire? An abomination kind of Dhampir?' At first he felt nothing, a numbness he had never known before. Yet, a growing sensation could be felt. Rage. "Who dare?" He gritted his teeth. His emotions slowly growing wild. He scratched at his face, drawing blood. But he didn't care. He was the king of Vampires, a being of unfathomable power and Authority, and yet, somehow. But unknown means, he had been turned into a Half breed? An abomination. His emotions reached a bottleneck. Overcome by rage, he screamed as loud as his throat would let him. "Disgusting. Wretched. Despicable." He scratched at his body again, drawing blood with every motion. "I'd rather be dead. Cursed to the depths of hell itself, than live as a slave" he smashed his fists into the ground, instantly breaking his bones. He grunted in pain, but pushed past it. He was in anguish. Who could have done this to him? And why? To convert his throne? Alucard was in a whirlwind of emotions. His power, throne, memories. All were ripped from him. But now his identity? "No, No, maybe it's because I haven't fed in centuries. Yes that must be it. Vampires were originally humans, no way I'm actually a Dhampir!" He spoke with conviction, ardently believing his own words. He gazed at his mangled hand, his bones were shattered from the force he used to punch the ground with. "Who goes there?" An estranged voice called out. Alucard turned sharply, he saw a man in a uniform of some sort. He held a weapon in hand, a long spear and walked towards Alucard. "How badly have my senses dulled? I couldn't even sense a human? Wait... A human?" Alucard sharpened his gaze. He felt a certain burning desire, unfathomable hunger and thirst. His fangs grew out, saliva dripping from his mouth. His good hand flexed, growing sharpened claws from his nails. "Can you not hear me? Who are you?" The man demanded. Alucard stood up, wasting no time, he dashed towards the man, there was mad fury in his eyes. Unfathomable hunger and desire for blood. "D... Dhampir!" The man shouted, placing his weapon before he and Alucard, but Alucard simply sidestepped the weapon. Sadly he hadn't realized just how weak his body was. The soldier followed his movement, slashing his arm in a wide arc. "Stay b..back" he stuttered. Alucard took two steps back, his face was fixated on the soldier. "Wryyyy" he growled slowly, Alucard seemed not entirely in control of his body, but that was because of his insatiable hunger for blood. He cared not for his safety, not well being. He simply needed to eat. He ran forward again, but this time, he flung his bleeding arm out, splashing his blood into the face of the soldier, Alucard ducked under the spear and jumped straight for the neck. He sunk his fangs in, sucking in as much blood as he could. The soldier cried out in pain as his life drained away at a drastic rate. But Alucard didn't stop, he drank as much blood as he could. Ripping off the man's arms, drinking his blood from the gashes he had torn in the soldiers body. He was thrilled, ecstatic. The unrivalled taste of blood, the thickness, subtle metallic taste. He was in awe of it. The man still screamed. Disturbing Alucard's feast. Feeling a bit annoyed, Alucard dug his claws into the man's neck and ripped off his head with a fluid motion. And continued his feast. Alucard realized, his body wasn't in fact burning like a Vampires would, and that meant... 'No... Why me?' a subconscious part of him thought whilst he fed, he stuffed his face with more human flesh to bury the pain brewing in his heart. Suddenly, his ears picked up a sound. It sounded like an autonomous voice. [FIRST BLOOD.] [BLOOD ASSIMILATION... ERROR. CANNOT ACCESS. POWER LOCKED.]
