Ling, Eryndor, and Ryker continued to work together to study the artifact. They made progress, but Ling couldn't shake off the feeling that Ryker was hiding something.

One day, as they were working in the laboratory, Ling noticed that Ryker seemed particularly interested in a specific aspect of the artifact. She watched him closely, trying to understand what he was looking for.

"Ryker, what's got you so fascinated?" she asked, walking over to him.

As she explored the room, Ling came across a journal belonging to Ryker. She picked it up, feeling a sense of trepidation. What secrets was Ryker hiding?

As she flipped through the pages, Ling discovered that Ryker's true intention was not to help the kingdom, but to use the artifact's power for his own gain. He had been manipulating Ling and Eryndor all along, using them to further his own agenda.

Ling's eyes widened in shock as she read the journal. She couldn't believe that Ryker would betray them like this. She felt a sense of anger and betrayal, and she knew that she had to confront him.

But as she turned to leave the room, Ling was confronted by Ryker himself. "You shouldn't have come here," he said, his eyes cold and calculating.

Ling stood tall, her heart pounding in her chest. "I know what you're planning," she said. "And I'm not going to let you get away with it."

Ryker smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "We'll see about that," he said.

And with that, the battle between Ling and Ryker began.
