Chapter 5

1011 Words
Diana A little nervous, I drummed my fingers on the surface of the large glass table where I sat. Through the glass wall, I saw Natalie Hayden arguing with some of the staff. They didn't seem to notice, that I were watching them. About ten minutes ago, I arrived at the address the woman had sent me by text message, and shortly thereafter, I was taken to this room, which looked suspiciously like a conference room. Here it looked suspiciously like a law firm, which did not necessarily help me with my nervousness and somehow had a bland connotation. So suddenly the whole thing got something crazy official and I was really clear what I just probably made her a stupidity. For though I actually had a boyfriend I was super happy with, I wanted to hear the offer from the woman who suggested she play the wrong friend for her son. At the thought, I wondered again where my sanity had gone that day. Suddenly the door opened and I jerked my head up to see Natalie and two men in dark suits enter the room. Immediately I realized that she did not seem to fit in here. While all the employees were in suits or other fancy clothes, all she wore was a loose T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Nevertheless, she just looked fantastic. "Diana, how nice that you came," she now turned to me and gave me a warm smile as she shook my hand. "I'm also happy to be here," I responded just as friendly and somehow glad she did not seem to blame me for the shirt thing yesterday. The two men simply nodded to me in silence before sitting down at the table to the left and right, while Natalie sat down on a chair across from me. "So, you know why you're here, right?", She started immediately, but I hesitantly nodded: "You already told me yesterday, but somehow I do not quite understand it." "What exactly do not you understand?" She prompted, but did not give me any sense of being vague, but rather made her feel as if she would like to answer any of my questions. "Why look for a fake girlfriend for your son?, "I admitted. After all, that was not necessarily typical. Or not for me! Certainly many young Hollywood stars had wrong girlfriends, without the fans noticed it. "As you may know, my son has often been in the gossip magazines lately. But not really in a positive context, "she explained a little contrite:" If he has a new girlfriend, it saves him from bad press. " "So it's a PR - Gag? "I analyzed her words. She nodded, but then added, "Yeah, first and foremost, but besides, my husband and I hope that it will ground him down a bit and finally teach him responsibility." Although I would not have thought it, but suddenly I find the goals she pursued with this measure, not so bad. "And I understood that you really want me to take on this role?" I asked again, not that it was any misunderstanding at the end. Immediately she nodded: "Yes, that's right, but if you do not want to do that, I can of course understand that, because that's a big responsibility, and of course, you would get a lot of money for that." The last sentence threw me a little off track. I had not even thought about money. I swallowed. In fact, I could need a little extra pocket money. Finally, I go to college and which college student could not use any money? But if I said yes, maybe I would be pushed into the public at the same time and I'm not sure if I really want that? "I already have a boyfriend," I murmured, lowering my eyes to the tabletop, thinking about Dylan that made my heart suddenly heavy, but yesterday he managed to get her to say what Natalie wanted and was almost freaked out when I told him. He did not even talk me out, just ran away and since then he has not responded to my many calls. "Oh, that's not a problem," but surprisingly, Mrs. Hayden immediately waved off, "As the name implies, it's not a real relationship you should lead. Then you just have to be careful that no one finds out that you actually have another boyfriend and he would have to sign something like a confidentiality statement, so he does not just let the whole thing fly when he's tired of it." At that moment, I was doubled. It was certainly a great opportunity for me, as I really needed the money, but on the other hand, Dylan was not thrilled yesterday when I told him about this idea. And what should I do if I went into this fake thing but don't like the guy. If he did as many negative things as his mother suggested, we'd probably have some problems soon. I sighed and then looked at her for a moment. Maybe that was not exactly the answer she wanted to hear, but for me this request really felt right: "Could I maybe get another day to think about it?" Although she seemed a bit surprised, she nodded: "Of course, take as much time as you need, after all, that's an important decision." I nodded in agreement. That was it indeed. If I said yes, that would certainly change my life. With thanks, I got up, shook hands with the actress, and left the room. Back in the corridor, I slowly walked back the path that had been led me on my arrival until I arrived at the elevator. This decision made me almost insane. Because I had to decide! There was no middle way in the matter. Of course, I could just refuse, but then maybe I would have a huge chance and certainly a lot of money to escape. Besides, there was something about it that aroused her interest. However, she could not say exactly what it was!
