Michael had to fly back to London now, and help Judas make sense of John’s confession. It would take Judas an age to get through the notes, so he did not rush. He flew up into the night sky and looked down on the sea, and breathed in the clean air. The clouds drifted past and the lights of civilisation came on far below. He had completed the first part of his task. The Grove was safe. So was the Black Museum – for now. Michael flexed his wings and caught the wind. London wasn’t far away. Judas turned the lights off in his office and started to make his way to the stairwell. It had been a very long few days and he was dead tired. What was the point of having a flat in Zone 2 if you never got to see it or spend any time there? he thought to himself. Williams appeared and coughed politely.
