Morning came quicker than I anticipated. I groaned, holding my head as I drew the blankets over me. The sun was giving me a terrible headache. Yes, I had done what I had in mind, but I ended up drinking half a bottle of whiskey too. I was definitely regretting that choice this morning. I blindly reached out for my phone as I checked the time. It was already 9 am. I was so late for work. I groaned as I decided to rest a bit, waking up half an hour later. When I finished getting ready, I made my way downstairs and briefly glanced at the garden doors. I half expected to see Cassian and Celeste there, but there was no one. “Good morning, ma’am.” Rose greeted me when I got to the dining room. “Good morning. Where’s Cassian?” “He stepped out already. He has some urgent work to attend to.”
