Chapter Four Sanctuary The long, empty road suddenly met with rising hills. As the fields passed them by, one mountain rose above the rest and from it came a waterfall, spilling and foaming into a lake so clear it was as if the heavens spit out the very holiness of them. A renewed energy overcame the riders after many nights spent in somber, wordless company, and they hurried to quench themselves. “So this is Sanctuary?” Caia asked no one in particular as she studied the high mountain peaks from beside the lake. Towering and snowcapped, she'd never seen such a sight from so close a distance. “No,” Archai replied before anyone else. “Sanctuary is behind the falls, and only one who knows from where to enter can do so.” “You know where, though?” Naoni said, shaking water from her hands.
