Talk in the Garden

Helena felt oppressed and cornered inside that room, so she ran to the small garden at the back of the house; she liked to look at the plants and the markings of the unfinished pool. She was afraid he would continue; in fact, the panic she felt from him had returned. They were doing so well. Why did he have to attack her? She was lost in her thoughts when he came up from behind and hugged her. She tried to break free, but he didn't allow it. "It's all right, sweetheart, most of the darkness has passed now, and I need to tell you things that no one ever knew. Come sit with me. I want to apologize once again for what happened in the room. I promised you I would never force you, and I won't. I'll only move forward when you let me." Helena remained silent; besides being scared, she was hurt.
