The Comeback Kid
Laurie was in Singapore in a meeting with Professor Wu from I-GenTek when his mobile phone played the theme music from Doctor Who. He tried to ignore it.
“What we really need is to sell the Australian public the benefits of stem cell research so our scientists can replicate the work. A breakthrough in this area could help spine-injured patients walk again. There’s been some promising trials done on crippled rats, who’ve walked with special bio-adhesives made from stem cells and the DNA from Mexican walking fish …”
A message beeped on Laurie’s phone. “Excuse me, I need to check this message quickly.”
The professor nodded.
