“You’re going back to Marie’s then?” he said as they approached Stevensville. “Or did you want to come back home for a bit?”
“Actually, I’m supposed to be meeting Mike at the shop.”
“So, you want me to drive you into town?”
“Please? It’s no further than driving me to Marie’s.” She’d deliberately left off that she was seeing Mike today when she asked for the ride because she knew how her dad felt about Mike. She didn’t know why, and that was one feud she didn’t want to know the details of.
