Chapter 15
Mike got out of the car, whistling the song that had just been on the radio. He grabbed Terri’s purse and headed for the house. He couldn’t stay long, not with the full moon tonight, but it would be a nice treat to see her this evening, sneak in a few kisses before heading for the pack hall. Besides, it was his fault the purse had been forgotten in the first place, since he’s the one who unloaded the car.
His sensitive ears picked up the raised voices and he frowned, picking up his pace to a jog. He hopped over the porch steps and reached for the door as Henry came barreling out. The two men stared at each other for a long moment.
“f*****g b***h,” Henry snarled. “You’d do better to just turn around and walk away.” He pushed past, leaving Mike staring at the door.
