Then there was Terri. He’d told her this dream of hers would get her killed. He’d been wrong, thank god for that, but she’d come home crippled. And worse, the way she just snapped sometimes, freaking right out over the slightest things. Broken in more ways than one. But she’d come home, and he’d thought she’d come back to his house, to her house. No. She wants to leave too. They all want to walk away and forget everything I did for them, every sacrifice I made for them. Ungrateful bastards, all of them. He came home to an empty house, no car in the driveway.
