The Lookalike. Noah🌬️

577 Words
Everyone suddenly starts to laugh. What's so funny about the coach's instructions? I look towards the direction they were all pointing at and see a blushing girl in a white shirt and shorts. What was the matter with her? I look away from her before double-checking again. Mom? What's mom doing here? I almost stand up to welcome her and introduce her to my teammates but then I realize it's not her. it's just her lookalike. Phew! I was hoping strongly for a miracle to happen, but guess what? It doesn't work that way. She sees me staring and blushes even harder. My mom wasn't this type of clumsy and cheap girls who threw themselves at the football team boys. And because I wasn't interested in any of them,I became the ice king. Not that the name isn't cool, but the girls that gave me actually had frozen brains. A girl, Blake's girlfriend, comes and lead her away from my sight. Our sight. "Ice? The girl's gone. What did I say last?" The coach quizzes and the whole team laughs. I didn't answer, but I nod my head instead and he doesn't push any further. Because that's the only way to prevent an outburst right before the game. The second half was almost floppy. Jim kept kicking the ball off the field and he injured a guy fromnthe other school. His girlfriend sat there, wearing his home jersey, with her face distorted with anger at how her boyfriend humiliated her. For me, playing ball is fun and I'm not after anything, not even the scholarships that come with being a star player in highschool. But if the scholarships come, it's not like I'd reject it. I see the girl from earlier dozing in her seat beside Blake's girl. Maybe I'd talk to her after the game, maybe. As soon as the game finished, I change hurriedly and rush out to find a pouting Bianca at the entrance of the dressing room. "Where's she?" "Huh? Who?" "Your friend?" "Oh! Jane. she's quite boring. You might want to hang out with me sometime later." I swallow in disgust and my nose cringes on its own. "Sure, where's Jane?" "She's waiting in the cold for a bus. she doesn't want to attend the after party" "Thanks." I saw but as I start to leave, she holds my hand and gives me a gaze she assumed is seductive. "You're welcome" I say gently and push her off my shoulder where she was leaning on, then I speed out past the crowd that was headed to the after-party. She was sitting with her arms wrapped around her. I pull my leather jacket off and drape it on her shoulders, shocking her before seating beside her and flashing a million dollar smile at her. She smiled back! Mom's lookalike smiled back. "Thank you" She muttered and pulls the leather jacket closer to warm her. "There's warmth inside my car.. I'd give you a ride to the after party." I offered. "No thanks. I have better things to do. I want to watch..." "Better things? Better than the after-party?" I pout and I know it's cute that I'm pouting like a six year old and I know all the guy in the football team would double over in laughter if they found me like this. "Please? You can leave anytime you want. I'll drive you home. I want to talk to you. I'm serious."
