  When Nikolai left, Anaiah felt a twinge of guilt for not sending him off with a meal. They hadn't eaten, and it gnawed at her. She turned to Juan with a spark of inspiration. “What if we followed Dad?”   His eyes lit up, and he jumped with excitement. “Yes! Let’s sneak after him!”   The plan quickly unraveled.
