Nikolai felt a mix of excitement and trepidation as he stepped into the Dark Forest Pack territory, Enzo at his side. It was his first time here, a place his father had visited but never with him. His mother hadn’t returned since she escaped this land with Uncle Matt and his grandfather. Dad had told him, “Too many bad memories.”
“King Nikolai and Beta Enzo. Welcome to the Dark Forest Pack,” Alpha Carter greeted them outside what Nikolai assumed was the packhouse.
