“Useless piece of trash! What good are you?” The words burst out of him, sharp and loud. He glared at the witch kneeling in front of him, her head bowed, trembling at his fury.
“I’ve tried everything, Master! The witch protecting them is powerful. Please, don’t harm my children,” she begged, fear lacing her voice.
“Your failures mean nothing! Your kids won’t save you! You’re worthless!” he sneered, frustration boiling over.
“I’ll find a way, I swear! Just give me more time,” she pleaded, still not daring to lift her gaze.
“Fine. One month. If you can’t break their protection by then, you’ll get to watch your children become a snack for vampires. And then I’ll kill you,” he said coldly, enjoying the sound of her small cry.
