19 Last Performer

The announcer sneered. "I think you've got it wrong. It was not Miss Aubrey who got the female lead role."
Both of them feels like someone splashed a cold water into their faces as they stood rooten to the ground.
Aubrey raised her brows in disbelief. "Excuse me? "
I did not get the role? Is she kidding me?!
Manager Fe also felt that something was amiss but she can't figure it out. She held Aubrey's arm and puzzledly asked the announcer.
"What do you mean? If it was not Aubrey, then who was it? "
Aubrey remembered the last performer. Could it be that, that last performer got the role?
She bite her lips nervously. "Who got the role? "
The announcer was about to answer when someone called her urgently, she can only excused herself without answering the question leaving both Manager Fe and Aubrey dumbfounded.
Some artistes who heard the conversation had their eyes widened in surprise. Soon after, the hall filled with murmurs. Aubrey then started to receive some weird stares.
"Congratulating early eh? She did not even got the role. "
"Who says the she got the role? Psh! It's just some people who want to 'get close' to Aubrey. "
"Gosh! I really think she got the role! "
Manager Fe paled when she heard the comments. She decided to ignore it and bring Aubrey who has her face darkened out of the Hall.
Aubrey gritted her teeth. "I want to know who got the female lead role!"
Who dared to snatch that role from her?!
Manager Fe gulped as a cold sweat formed on her forehead. "Y-yes... "
Aubrey's eyes sharpened. "And find out who was the last performer. "
She found the last performer suspicious. She clearly knew that she is the last performer. Or maybe the last performer had a last-minute decision?
Hearing Aubrey's order, Manager Fe was stunned.
When Aubrey told her about the last performer, she was also confused as she just know that Aubrey was the last performer but she did not mind it as she was certain that Aubrey would get the role.
But how can she find it out if the performer's list is confidential?
Aubrey glared at her seeing that she did not answered immediately. "Why? Aren't you going to do it? "
Manager Fe lowered her head a little as she helplessly said, "I will find it out immediately. "
Seems like she's going to use some underhanded tactics again as always.
On the other hand, Laura finally went out from the audition room for some long minutes.
She had a wide smile on her face. She felt so happy right now. She just got the role of the female lead!
The movie talks about a girl who has her parents got killed and was framed by some people and decided to make her revenge on a bloody way. Laura just acted it perfectly! Most importantly, her emotions. She can gave the message of the movie to the audience just using her emotions and even got them to be carried away!
That's why she got the role as Director Jay found the important piece of the female lead needs to have on her.
Camille appeared on her side. She already expected the result so she was not surprised.
"So, how's the feeling? "
Laura beamed in joy, "They said they'll going to contact me if they're going to start the filming! "
Camille chuckled. "That's good. "
Camille casually persuaded Laura for a few words to go to the audition and ignore her Manager's forbids. She also helped Laura to register her name as the last performer after the last-minute decision.
Laura was so glad that she followed what Camille said. If she did not, then this role should not be hers. Right now, she was so thankful that she met Camille and even helped her to successfully got the role!
Or is this the miracle she always prayed?
Laura hooked her arms to Camille. "Let's be friends Camila! "
Camille raised her brows. "Aren't we? "
Knowing that Camille already recognized her as her friend, Laura was pleased.
"I mean, let's be a close friend! "
Camille just smiled at her and did not say anything and Laura took her silence as a yes.
They just knew each other's name not that long, and she wants to be her close friend? Is she really that comfortable to Camille that did not even bothered to think about what is Camille's real attitude?
The truth is, Laura decided to trust her feelings. The feeling that she felt unknowingly safe and comfortable with Camille on her side. She felt like she can be as her true self whenever she's with Camille.
Camille secretly sighed and looked at the sky with a glint on her eyes.

On a small shop, Manager Fe placed a small envelop on the table in front of a man named Danny.
Danny smirked and slowly took the envelop. He saw a ten thousand pesos on it.
He greedily stared at it as he say, "What do you want me to do? "
Manager Fe crossed her arms in front of her chest and her lips twitched up."Get me the performer's list on the Audition of the movie 'Revenge'."
Danny carefully put the money to his pocket."Performer's list? I heard it is confidential. "
There was a hint of darkness on Manager Fe's eyes. If that list is not confidential, does she still need to call this man to do the work?
This man has the attitude that she really hate.
Psh! It's good that he still has some use to her, if not then he would be out of her sight forever. He is the one who did every job that Manager Fe can't do herself.
"I want it tomorrow. "
Danny shrugs arrogantly."Okay! "
Manager Fe looked at him in disdain and went out immediately. She took her cellphone and called someone she knew.
"Hey, do you know who got the role of the female lead of the movie Revenge? "she asked while getting inside her car.
The other line answered, "Oh, that? Isn't Aubrey got it? "
Manager Fe rolled her eyes. "Sadly, she did not. "
"Is that so? But I heard that the one who got the role is the last performer. Isn't Aubrey the last performer? "
Manager Fe froze. "What? The last performer? "
"Yes, why? Oh no, don't tell me Aubrey is not the last performer!"
Manager Fe gritted her teeth as she hung up the call. So that last performer was the one who snatched the role from Aubrey?
