The next few weeks were tough, to say the least. Word of my affair-gone-south with Ethan had gone round the pack and everyone seemed to have something to say about it.
Needless to say, my first pack meeting was not fun at all.
“Ugh, she’s so desperate. She wants to be the next luna so badly.”
“Some common street urchin thinks she can come into our pack and become our luna? Please.”
“I blame Ethan, he’s the one who brought her here in the first place.”
“I know, right? What did he even see in her?”
“You know, Ethan, he has to have a taste of everything.”
“Even this? That man will get himself in trouble one day.”
“He would get all of us in trouble. Didn’t you hear? She said they’re fated mates.”
The Snickers felt like claws on my back.
“She’s so desperate, she’d do anything.”
