I woke up with a jolt, my heart hammering dangerously in my chest. Placing my heart on my chest, I tried to steady my heartbeat as the feeling of the real world embraced me. What kind of dream is that? Oh my God! I've heard of people losing their mates to the cold hand of death, but I never for once stopped to imagine it. I only witnessed it in the dream, but it felt almost real, and I could feel the pain in my chest. The snead of sweat that decorated my forehead started drying up, my heartbeat calming with it. I reached for my phone immediately, wanting the slightest bit of reassurance that he was okay. “It's just a dream Ava, stop overreacting.” I didn't listen to the little voice that lived in my head and still proceeded to ring his phone. Getting no answer, my panic returned.
