Cassandra Kane Pulling into her spot at the precinct, Cassandra let out a long sigh. It had felt like ages since she’d been in the building. After everything, she couldn’t stand another day of rest. She was itching to get back to work. The murders of Stacy and Melanie haunted her thoughts, and she couldn’t leave them unresolved. They deserved justice, and she was determined to give it to them. She ran a hand through her hair, fixing it into a high ponytail, and grabbed her helmet, resting it under her arm as she headed toward the building. The moment she stepped inside, every cop she passed either clapped her on the shoulder or gave her a quick pat. A warm welcome. A normal person would feel happy to be around colleagues who cared enough to show affection, but Cassandra just felt... mild
