Paul’s POV As we sank into the shadows just outside Joan's safe house, the tension felt like the tempest, heavy and oppressive. The site exceeded my expectations; it was a vast estate hidden between armed guards and towering barriers. Evan was correct; Joan was hiding but not doing it silently.
