Becky's POV Slowly rising, the sun sent a faint glow across the half-open blinds. Even with the new day, the anxiety that had crept over me persisted. I had been on edge over the sinister message from the delivery of the previous night and the terrible silence that followed. Our breakfast unaltered, Paul and I sat at the kitchen table. Usually friendly, his eyes now showed acute concern. "We have to sort through this," he replied; his voice quiet and focused. "We have to find out why Lydia is targeting you should she be involved." I nodded, caught in a mixture of resolution and terror. “I agree. Still, we must be cautious.
