Leo's POV Becky was behind me, a continual source of vulnerability as well as strength. I faced The Broker, and my fists tightened. He stood there, haughtily as usual, as though he had all the cards. But this time something was different; I was not the same man he had controlled previously. We were unique to each other. Maybe broken, but wiser, more potent. "I have time for neither of your games, Leo." The Broker went on, his voice was soft but with a lethal edge. "I have let Becky and you engage in long enough hide-and-seek. You have to learn to live with reality. My body stiffened, every thread of me poised for the confrontation. Now, though, was not the time for haste.
