Silence stretched between them in the cave, as they still lay together on the hard ground, bodies intertwined but souls, or whatever was left of them, still reluctant to give in to their mutual feelings.
Red understood Cath’s hesitation, or at least he tried too. It was too much too soon, and Red realized that maybe he should’ve kept his mouth shut for now, but he was too tired of it. He had been hiding his feelings for Cath ever since he walked away from him when they escaped Anya’s towers, believing it was the last time they saw each other.
