Fenn tugged at the tie wrapped around his neck. The damn thing was strangling him. He glowered at his reflection. All dressed up in a suit and jacket, he looked like Emery. Exactly like Emery. It wasn’t a bad thing, but it was odd. He growled softly as he messed up the tie yet again. He’d started to rip it off when his mother appeared in the doorway, a little nervous smile hovering about her lips. “Need some help?” she offered. “Yes. I can’t figure this da—rn thing out.” He edited himself, but she winked at him and gently pushed his hands down, away from his neck. He took in the sight of her as she nimbly and proficiently made a flawless knot out of the mess he’d created.
