Tommy

“So I think we have everything covered,”I told her as she parked her car in the abandoned garage next to our warehouse.

“I’m not even going to ask,” She said as we headed into the building.

The guys had the music cranked up to the highest volume and waved to us when we came in. Donnie motioned for me to follow him into the back room, but not for Tori to follow.

“Hang out for a minute, OK?” I told her. She was very uncomfortable and I didn’t blame her and I most certainly didn’t want to leave her alone for longer than I had to.

“What’s up?” I asked Donnie when we were in the back room. The weapons room.

“I got these today,” Donnie showed me some guns he’d acquired, “I drop them next week.”

“Nice,”I picked one up and studied it, “Brian?”

“Yeah, he’s the guy.”

Suddenly the door burst open and in walked Glenn.

“Donnie, let me talk to my brother alone, please.”

Donnie complied, closing the guns up and heading out.

Once Donnie was gone, Glenn pushed me up against the wall.

“What the f**k?!” I pushed him off. We were both pretty much the same height and build so we weren’t a match for the other one really, “Glenn? What the hell is wrong with you?”

“No, Tommy! What the hell is wrong with you?! Bringing her here? Are you f*****g nuts?”

“She’s harmless!”

“Oh? Just bringing witnesses in here then?”

I swallowed hard, “I don’t,-”

“I saw her, Tommy. I didn’t know you were f*****g stupid enough to bring her back here. You know what happened to Hazel and Lexi because of YOU!”

“You shut your f*****g mouth, Glenn,”I huffed, “I did what I had to do.”

Glenn sighed, “She wouldn’t have talked. She’s not stupid. Stop trying to turn these girls, Tommy.”

I pushed him back further, “Is that what you think I’m doing?”

Glenn shrugged, “You literally did it with Hazel and Lexi.”

“I thought I’d be protecting her.”

Glenn shook his head, “You can’t keep trying to protect people just because no one protected us, Thomas.”

“She’s safe here.”

“She was safe not knowing us.”

I took a step back.

“I know what you plan on doing with her. Making her one of your girls,” Glenn lit a smoke, “And you know I don’t care, but her father is a cop!”

“I’m well aware of who her father is.”

“I think you made a big mistake bringing this one here.”

“Yeah? Is that right? What happened to Billie Jean after Donnie and Shane found out about her snooping around?” I asked him, coaxing him into recalling the ruthlessness of some of our friends when it came to people who weren’t involved with us.

Glenn had every right to be angry with me. I brought in Hazel and Lexi, but it saved them from other men in our group. I was sure that Tori wouldn’t talk, but I had to get her so caught up in us that she never would.

I felt abandoned while the music blared in my ears.

Donnie had emerged moments after Glenn followed Tommy into the back and now Donnie and Shane were ogling me. I stuck my hands in my pockets and scuffed the floor with the toe of my shoe, but I could still feel them glaring at me.

I never thought I’d feel so much relief when Tommy Knox was at my side again.

“Come on,” He took my hand and lead me away, “Let’s go to my room.”

Surprisingly enough, the warehouse was clean and liveable—even Tommy’s room wasn't how I expected it to be.

He dumped some books out of his bag and onto the bed, “Here.”

I gasped, “These are the library books! Tommy I never checked these out.”

“So?”

“So!?! You stole them?”

“I thought you’d want them,” He shrugged, slipping a hand into his pocket, “Here.” He handed me my ten dollars.

“Thanks...” I was so confused at everything that was happening.

“Glenn knows.”

“W-what?”

“Glenn knows who you are. I’m sorry.”

I almost puked.

“You’re my “girlfriend” now so act like it,”Tommy said as if I had a choice in the matter.

“Will Glenn hurt me?”

“It isn’t Glenn I’m worried about,”Tommy muttered, picking up one of the books and glancing over it, “It’s everyone else.”

“I don’t know why you couldn’t just leave me alone,”I sobbed, “I can’t be here.”

Tommy nodded, “Then go. Take your books and go. I can’t protect you once you’re gone.”

Not believing anything he said, I ran.

I ran out to my car and got into the driver’s seat and I started my clunker.

What if he was telling me the truth? What if Glenn knew I was a witness and Donnie and Shane knew, too and they weren’t saying anything?

I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

I felt someone watching me and yelped when I saw Tommy looking into the window.

“You coming back in?”

I shut off the car and nodded.

I had to trust him at this point.

I stepped out of the car and was about to walk with him when Tommy pushed me up against the car and ran his hands through my hair, gripping the back of my head softly. He leaned in and smashed his lips against mine. I grabbed his forearms and tried to push him away and then I felt myself pulling him into me.

His tongue found his way inside of my mouth, battling with my tongue once he found it. We switched from sweet and passionate to downright raunchy until I felt myself getting wet. My God it felt so good and I hadn’t the slightest clue of what I was doing. I moaned into his mouth and he slowly pulled away, but kept his hands in place so my face was only inches away from his.

“Was that OK? Did you like that, Tori?”

“I’ve never,-”I began and stopped myself.

He frowned and tilted his head to one side, “You’ve never what? Been kissed before?”

I blushed and tried to pull away.

“Are you sure?”

“Tommy, I think I’d know if I’d been kissed before!” I wiggled free and walked away from him, but only a few feet. I could still taste him.

Tommy stood behind me and wrapped his arms around me, “I didn’t know...”

“You didn’t really give me time to say anything.”

He whirled me around and smiled, “I’m not sorry. What else haven’t you done?”

My look said it all.

“Oh, s**t, Tori...”

That dark, sinister smile spread across his face and I knew I was in for trouble.
