Against Panthers

Spurt!

The flames were still burning the man but they were repelled as soon as they tried to burn Orion by the ominous wind.

Blood spattered on Orion's face but he didn't care.

"GAH! Cough!"

Still without emotions, Orion channeled mana in his left hand.

The man opened his eyes wide, he wished to die right now. He regretted everything he did.

The mind-boggling pain was driving him insane.

"AAHHHHHHHHH!"

He was burned alive and his organs were being crushed in pieces by tiny wind blades at the same time.

Buzz!

A strange buzzing sound echoed inside the man's body. It was because of the sheer speed of the rotating wind.

Blood gushed out from every part of the man's body.

"ARRGHHH!"

The man spasmed violently and his body shook violently.

Orion channeled even more mana and...

The torturer's body exploded in chunks of flesh and blood rained on Orion's body.

Orion's impassible face deformed and a twisted smile appeared.

With blood all over his body, he looked like an insane man.

Glancing at his side, he saw the space ring of the man rolling on the ground.

He took it and walked toward a corner of the room.

Each of his steps repelled the golden fire on the ground, making a path for him.

Reaching a small table, he saw his own space ring and his pendant.

He emptied the contents of the man's space ring before putting everything on his own.

Looking at the blue metallic ring on his pendant, a smile emerged on his bloodied face. But when he saw the golden chain, he turned expressionless again.

Tearing off the golden chain, he threw it near his burning chair in the center of the cave. He also tore apart his shirt and put it on the chair.

Orion wasn't stupid, he knew that the torturer was betrayed by his employer. The employer wanted to kill both of them to erase any traces of his actions.

The next five minutes, Orion made it look like he had died, burned with the blood and flesh around the cave.

He didn't know if it would work, but at least they would leave him alone for a while. The fucker who placed him here and the Solaria Empire.

Suddenly, a strange sound resonated behind him.

Turning around, he opened his eyes wide.

Something like a space portal was forming.

He wanted to ignore it and leave by the entrance but he had the feeling that something important for him was behind the portal.

Clomp!

He jumped into the portal.

He landed on hard ground. Turning around, he saw the portal slowly closing behind him.

He didn't even need to turn around to understand that monsters were behind him.

Four black panthers were growling at Orion.

He had already fought panthers when he got into a rift with his classmates, but they were not that big. The ones he met back then were 1.5M in height but the ones before him were easily over two meters.

If before, he wasn't sure no he was.

'I'm in a rift.'

He was quite surprised that he was imprisoned in a rift. It was truly a good hideout.

Nobody would think that someone was getting tortured inside a small cave in a place as dangerous as a rift.

Orion narrowed his eyes.

He didn't get all the memories of the man named Soren, but it was enough for him to understand that it was him.

Honestly, he didn't know who he was anymore. Orion or Soren ?

But one thing was sure, he would kill all the people responsible for his and Runa's death.

Remembering her tearful face was enough to turn him insane and he would surely have if he was just Soren.

A panther jumped on him.

Orion squeezed his fist and punched.

The panther crashed on the ground.

He didn't have a lot of mana and he was physically exhausted, so he had to be cautious.

Two other panthers pounced angrily at him.

But Orion smirked and rushed toward the fallen Panther, trying to stand up.

"Grr...?"

Taking one of the panther's paws, he lifted it.

"AH!"

With a cry he threw it at the other two, rushing toward him. With the wind, he could easily do such a feat with his exhausted body.

The panthers were surprised and tried to dodge their companion but it was too late.

Buzzzzzzz!

Wind swirled fast around Orion's left hand.

"More."

He muttered and the wind swirled even faster.

Orion smiled and raised his left hand in a punching motion.

"Air Blast."

He said in a calm tone, but what followed wasn't calm at all.

SWOOSH!

A pressurized wind tornado devastated the ground as it closed the distance toward the three horrid panthers.

BOOM!

CRASH!

The three panthers crashed on a rocky wall and two of them died immediately.

The panther who took the blunt of the attack and the panther who was behind were now flattened on the wall.

The ground between Orion and the destroyed wall was decimated.

"Now, your turn."

Orion said as he turned toward the biggest one.

GROWL!

The leader panther was angry and jumped immediately to tear apart Orion.

"Shit...!"

Whoosh!

"Argh!"

Orion dodged to the side but the panther's claws ripped a chunk of flesh from his right arm.

"Njord Wind, Blades!"

Orion swung his left arm and dark green blades made of wind cut the flesh of the panther.

"GRR....!"

The panther angrily writhed from the pain.

But Orion didn't let the panther breathe and rushed.

"Will Krav-Maga work on a monster ?"

Orion muttered with a smile.
