Elena Harris was the only daughter of Frederick Harris and Alyssa Campbell.
Her father was the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Her mother also worked for the FBI as her father's secretary.
Since a child, she had been heavily protected by her parents, who were somewhat paranoiac towards her.
Well, truthfully, since she was extremely cute, she was on the verge of being kidn*pped several times already, but each time her parents would appear out of nowhere and save her.
They put a sheep on her, so indeed they were very protective of her. She lived like a true princess, but because of that she couldn't make many friends. The other children were nearly worshiping her.
The only place where she could make friends was during the parties her parents would take her sometimes.
In that place, they were all in the same status. All the children of her age lived the same royal life as her.
One day, she got lost in an immense villa. It was a nightmare for her. She had never been alone like that in the past. She was just six years old, so it was normal. She cried and called out to her parents but nobody could hear her.
But.
Someone finally heard her and came. It was Austin. At that time, Austin was like a prince in shining armor. He came for her and even took her to her parents.
Since that day, she had wanted to be with him. But unfortunately, he already had two other friends he hung out with. Aura and Steve.
Luckily, she made her first friend quickly, who also helped her to join Austin's group.
It was one of the happiest moments of her life. She befriended the three of them and was always with them when a new party happened.
Unfortunately, when she was ten years old, a traumatic incident happened during a party in Rome. From that day, the next parties became bland as all her friends were shaken by that.
Aura and Steve seemed to help each other while Austin was strong, but what about her ?
Elena was one of the most shaken by what happened. She felt like she lost a part of her after that. Something she couldn't retrieve.
But Austin was still there. For her, Austin was the light filling the hole she had in her heart.
Unfortunately, three years ago, Austin's parents chose to send Austin to a famous high school in Paris.
Elena also wanted to go there but her parents preferred to send her to a high school in Washington DC with another group of people she knew well, as they were all either her friends or people she met several times at parties.
But no.
Being far from Austin would be like losing a part of her again. She pleaded with her parents all day. Finally, they relented when she refused to eat and her health worsened.
Entering the same class as Austin and other people she knew well, like Aura, Sienna and Anna, she felt at ease. She even made a new friend. More importantly, Austin was there. She didn't know why but he was the only one who could fill her holed heart.
'I will help you Elena.'
'Help!'
'AHHHHH!'
'I'm your friend, remember!'
'BANG!'
'More than hundreds of casualties have been noted. Rome is in mourning...'
"STOP!!!"
Elena shouted in her room while closing her ears with both hands.
All kinds of scenes she should have forgotten started replaying in her head.
Looking at the ceiling of her room on her bed, she clenched her chest and cried.
"I can't...I can't..."
Slam!
"Elena!"
The door of the room opened and Daisy arrived.
Elena broke from her strange state.
"D-Daisy ?"
"Sigh...Lena, I heard what happened from Austin."
"I-I..."
Elena didn't know what to say. She felt pathetic to cry just at the first rejection.
She had to persevere but something broke in her when Austin refused her while bringing up Elisa and Rome.
Daisy looked at her sadly.
She had known Elena for three years now. Their class was somewhat special as they were all too young to be in high school, but on top of that, several star children were there.
Daisy befriended Elena at that time. She quickly understood that she had a crush on Austin and, since then, she tried to help her to go out with Austin though she was aware that Austin was already in love with someone else.
It's obviously Elena who told her that. It was also at that moment that Daisy noticed the strange obsession Elena had with Austin, but she didn't care. She just wanted her friend to be happy.
Truthfully, when she learned that Elena didn't care to be a second wife, she was not surprised. Rather, as long as it made her happy, she was ready to support her.
But for that, Austin must be okay…

After the first dance ended, Orion tried to move away from Melissa. Unfortunately, she wasn't in the mood to dance with a complete stranger anymore, so she forced Orion to stay with her for a couple more dances.
Orion was mentally tired but still continued to dance with her.
After a few more, she finally let go of him. The various men who came, were stopped by her using the excuse that she was tired.
Looking at Bryan and Evelyn, Orion thought that they used the same excuse as the people around them left with a disappointed face.
"You also finished."
"Yes, Brother. Orion was surprisingly good."
Melissa said with a mischievous smile to Bryan.
"N-No, I just followed the Princess..."
Orion replied, embarrassed.
"Sigh...as long as it's over. Now we have to go back to Nychterin."
Bryan said, tired.
Normally, they would have stayed the night but with the shocking revelation he got today, he had to inform his parents.
"We will let you give your farewells. Let's go Melissa."
"Yes Brother. Then see you, BROTHER-IN-LAW."
Melissa teased Orion before following Bryan.
""...""
Orion and Evelyn were now alone and it was awkward.
Orion didn't understand why the hell they had to leave them alone for just a goodbye.
'They could have stayed though...?'
As expected, he was still oblivious to the c*****e he caused.
"Orion."
"Y-yes!"
"..."
"..."
Evelyn stared at Orion with her beautiful white eyes. Orion was fascinated by her otherworldly beauty and didn't utter a single word.
After staring at him for a long minute, she spoke.
"Goodbye."
"Eh...?"
Orion was dumbly staring at Evelyn walking off.
He thought she was going to say something important but nothing.
As expected, he couldn't understand her.
Looking ahead, he saw the three siblings bidding goodbyes to the Emperor and Empress.
The party wasn't finished but there were several people not there anymore.
Anna seemed to be angry so she apparently left soon. Aura danced with a few guys before waiting for the end with her friends.
Sienna was still there but wasn't doing anything special. Elena had run away but Orion wasn't aware of that.
As for the men, they were all surrounding the only princess remaining. Princess Myriam from the Fulgura kingdom.
Orion felt bad for her. Surrounded by Andrew, Jordan and Prince Albert must be tough...
As for the prince Arnold and Austin, the first was frowning in a corner and the second was seated on a chair with a thoughtful expression.
But Orion was looking for someone else. He had to talk to Liana.
Searching for a couple of minutes, he found her.
But the moment Liana's eyes met his, she averted her face and walked off.
If before it was just an impression, now he was sure that she was avoiding him.
Orion felt very sad at that but gathered his courage and followed after her.
