And today, it burned itself to cinder in the very depths of it. Alyna kneeled on the ground, back curled and arms bracing her face.
She cried in a mix of mild grief and a whole lot of pain. The numbness she fought so hard for came undone in a split second with one unforeseen possibility.

"Alyna!" The roar sounded distant. As if she was drowning in the depths of the ocean.
Alyna was unable to respond to the call. Her mind was fogging up from the prolonged pain.
