He didn't return home until early hours of dawn. Light spilled over the threshold, stretching out a shadow in the bedroom like a demon rising from a deep sleep. Alyna rolled on the bed to avoid the sunlight. Suddenly, a shadow covered her face, saving her from the onslaught of the heat. Her frown melted. Eiran adjusted his hand to block the light.
